I thought I was the only one giving myself 15 minutes in the morning 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. The sweating while getting dressed I felt in my spirit

You are exceptionally organized. It’s awesome that elementary students are exposed to pottery at such an early age. You’re an inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

I love the gallery walk idea! Do you think it’s as effective with 3rd and 4th graders too?

Yes! You may have to scaffold it a bit at the beginning but it can work well.

How many classes do you have each day? Do you meet with your classes more than once a week? I would like to see classroom management also. What does it look like when the kids enter and exit the classroom? How many projects do you do with your 5th grader per year?…lots of questions! Thank you 😊

Those are great questions! We have classroom management tips sprinkled throughout future DITL episodes, so stay tuned!

I teach about 6 classes a day. I only see each class once a week. As far as entering the classroom, they know the expectations are to enter quietly and find their seat. It is the same for exiting the room. These are expectations we set at the beginning of the year and we remain consistent with them all year long. Sometimes reminders are needed. I am unsure how many projects I do in total. I am sure it varies year to year. Some take longer than others-- so then I have fewer lessons. I hope this helps!

@@mrs.latimersbusybrushes4529 I also teach K - HS….do you you let your students talk in class while doing artwork? ….I make 36 lesson plans for the year ………do you think working on one project for 6 weeks is acceptable? I know my 5th graders could make the dragon eye project last at least 4 weeks (just wondering if we are going to slow)?

Do you sell your lessons and/or handouts? I love the ones for portraits. I to have struggle finding multicultural images of faces.
