The 1995 release of Game Boy Gallery predated the first Game & Watch Gallery game by two years. Game Boy Gallery is void of any Nintendo references, and instead features a generic character who partakes in the five Game & Watch games Ball, Vermin, Flagman, Manhole, and Mario's Cement Factory.
Strangely, Game Boy Gallery was only ever released in Europe and Australia. When Game & Watch Gallery eventually came out, it was known in those regions as Game Boy Gallery 2. This strange numbering continues all of the way up to North America's release of Game & Watch Gallery 3, which is known as Game Boy Gallery 4 over there.
