In this video, I take on the huge challenge of repairing a Gameboy Micro that appears to have a damaged Start & Select board. The Game Boy Micro is notorious for having very delicate bits and pieces and the papery-thin ribbon cables are no exception. Like many things with the Micro, the ribbon cables are something extraordinary. They are not connected with latches but are instead sandwiched between the layers of PCB that make up the motherboard. This design has made it incredibly difficult to diagnose problems and has made it nearly impossible to treat them. I hope to change that in this video. The goal for this video is to help others with Micros that have similar damage and provide insight that will help save Micros from a permanent demise.
I will leave a link to a Google Drive folder that will contain schematics I made during the filming of this video. Updates will be made to the folder where applicable and when time permits.
