I never realised, but really: Hodor and the the Haunting of Hill House's Bent-Neck Lady are such a paralel story. Where the final destiny of the character retrospectively creates the very traumatic way the character's life goes. And it hits so hard in both cases when we fine out. In an episode 5, in both cases...

So Hodor saw his end, but didn't know when, and it makes it so heartbreaking when you think about how terrified he would become when they were attacked, in danger, there were loud noises, and he's having PTSD flashbacks every time shit goes down. Also, magic is real in the universe GRRM created and prophecies exist and come true -- what is up for grabs is the interpretation of those prophecies, omens, and events.

From that point in his life when he had the seizure till he died he knew exactly how he is going to die. It's not a good death, no wonder it wrecked him. I gotta say that scene between Jon and Sansa when she gives him that cloak is one of my favorite in the whole season. It was shown very early in season 1 that Sansa was very good at that so its perfectly in character for her to do it. Jon has been through some shit even before he went to the Wall. He was always treated like a bastard, Sansa was especially cruel to him, he was always the unwanted person around. This is the first time someone made a gesture towards him to make him feel like Ned Stark's legitimate son. That's all he wanted in his whole life and of all people it's coming from Sansa. A symbol of the family of his father, someone he looked up to, loved and respected. It also shows that Sansa genuinely feels like he is her family and not just saying to because she needs him. I thought that was a beautiful scene between them, Jon's little smile was a very nice gesture, great job by Kit Harington.

Crazy theory for you guys to think about It’s theorized that when Willis gets worged into in the past he looking to Brans eyes which is what messed him up but no one else knew so it seemed random, he could hear everything in the present so he could hear banging all over and Meera shouting “Hold the Door!” Over and over again Which would explain in season 3 I think when they’re all in the tower and Jon is with the wildling outside during the Storm Hodor goes into a panic being afraid of thunder, it’s theorized he thought the thunder was spelling out his end. Another thing, before he gets worged into in the present in the cave he looks like he’s disoriented or having mad deja-vu until it’s time to go, his whole life lead to protecting Bran! crazy stuff!

Their entire way of life is based on pirating. if not for 200 years of history with the islands there would be no structure for them to start from. The islands are just several "Tortuga"s with bridges between them FFS. And the rum is always gone!

I agree with Blake on The Lord Of Light but it can still be a sham. Tyrion now tries to control the people through this “religion”, Tyrion doesn’t believe in the religion he just exploits the “miracles”. So it can be both, from a certain point of view. 😅

Eeeer, actually Blake, you got me thinking with that "twice". Not sure but maybe Jorah saved Daenerys more than two times... and that whole scene is low-key my favorite Dany scene of the series. You are not the only ones with allergies there. Anyways... apart from the one-dimensional portrayal of Euron, Summer's useless sacrifice and Littlefinger teleporting all over (but hey, it's the character you can forgive it for the most), that's a banger of an episode. Not that many more to come (apart from a few obvious ones) so let's enjoy it.

"Is the implication that Bran did that to him?" That's exactly what happened. Bran's dream power stuff somehow crossed over from the present to the past, because he was also controlling Hodor "at the same time". Doing that just completely fucked Hodor's brain at the time in the past where Bran was standing in Winterfell. The crazy thing is that he knew his whole life how he was going to die... He just accepted it, and Held That Door!

The day after this aired was WILD! I was on campus at university and several times, Sweet Summer Children innocently asked for someone to "Hold the door" and there was at least one other person in the room who violently flinched at hearing that phrase. Total strangers were comforting each other over being triggered by a commonplace phrase. I'll never forget that.

She doesn't want to about that to him or admit to Jon she is going to start playing the game & ally with Littlefinger.... so she starts lying to Jon, acting like she has so much insight after this embarrassing "power play" & you'll see how that's gonna unnecessarily backfired.
