Precisely. Why I hate having people that already saw the movie/show sitting next to a guy that hasn't seen anything. After having bad experiences myself, I never bring a person with me that already saw the movie. They are in your ear for most of the movie, always warning when the good part is coming or explaining things to you as if you're born yesterday. Blake is a Monday Morning QB, he didn't like the last few episodes, so he went back & decided to hate everything about season 8. Who exactly is complaining about their team when they are up 2 touchdowns? You see, there were dozens of ORIGINAL reactors of GOT on here, you know the ones that reacted to the episodes as they first aired, not knowing what the next episode holds. Not one of them said anything negative about the show till late in season 8 & those that did, were a small minority of the dozens. The book readers had an allegiance to the author & bad mouthed everything the writers did, despite that the writers had no books to go against since season 5. Which means season 6 was theirs. Anyone wanting to argue that point, needs to come clean that the end was all George's ending, the reason why he is taking another 5 years to rewrite his ending for a book in the making going on 15 years. All I have to say, if the writers of GOT did the screenplay of HOTD season 2, there would have been a petition to have them fired, speaking of terrible writing. That season they managed to turn every lead actor into a third level supporting actor, putting the whole story on hold since the end of season 1. What a complete waste of 8 episodes (But the haters complain that season 7 and 8 were short with lengthened episodes) that they could have been done in 3 episodes. Stall tactics to drag out HOTD to additional seasons, something that D&D did not want any part of with GOT. George didn't hold up his end of the bargain in delivering the next book as to where they caught up to him in the show, in essence he was leaving hundreds of GOT employees in the lurch because he was a lazy toad, 8 years wasn't long enough for him. If you're going to complain at this point, when there is nothing to complain about, complain that George was a lazy toad.

@@Matthew-hy1qp This sentiment is not logical. A person watching something for the first time is a blank canvas. Manipulation by someone who disfavors something many episodes later is a Monday Morning QB. Nobody complains about their team, when their team is up 2 touchdowns. His sentiment is exactly the opposite of EVERY original reactor who reacted to the episodes as they first aired. He built his resentment later on or years after the show ended, because he sat in a room of group think looking at the glass as being 5% empty.

It was extremely annoying how much crap talk there was about the season with someone who hasn’t seen it. I guess you guys are trying to ensure that he goes into it hating it rather than with an open mind? The only thing wrong with seasons seven and eight was each season should have been a full 10 episodes. The storylines and outcomes were fine, they were just entirely too compressed which made it a bit jarring. If they had had seven more episodes, they could’ve told the exact same story and it would’ve flowed much better. The “apparent” changes with Tyrion and Daenerys would make sense if they had more time to tell the story of how and why they got to where they were. So, I don’t blame the writing when they had to tell 20 episodes worth of story in 13 episodes. It would’ve been really nice to see Igli’s reactions to the show rather than his reactions to your opinions of the show. 😉

Sansa played it perfectly though. Sometimes the right move is not playing nice and coy. It's being strong and clear from the start - I want independence from the rest of Westeros for my people. We have been through too much & if you want to kill us, fine, but we aren't budging. Saying it in public means everyone will know if something mysteriously happens to the one person everyone could understand not wanting to bow to another ruler she didn't choose to be under, Sansa has that insurance & it throws Dany, who had a LOT of people in Essos not just "coming over to ger side eventually" but WORSHIPPING her, off her game. It's why Dany had to kill the Tarlys. Love or fear. That's always been her only two paths. She realized a while ago her brother was in denial that anyone in Westeros wanted the Mad King's kids to rule them especially not one with dragons. What does she do to people that don't fall in line? Make them enemies & threaten & kill them so others will because the fight for the throne is the only thing that has kept her going. She has no other true home or purpose, her entire identity is wrapped up in her long list on titles.

No one has said in canon Tyrion is the smartest man in the world as far as I am aware. That's fan assumption. No one watches Tyrion's plans be prepped and think "this sounds bad or dumb". Because they aren't. He just is up against his own sister & brother and both, especially Cersei, were listening to Tywin for decades while Tyrion has very little military experience and while he wanted to please his father it seems like he gave up or understood he never would gain his father's favor, therefore decided he should just play to his strengths and what interested him. Tyrion says early in the show he likes playing the game & being Hand because he can best others & it makes him feel good. Even Shae asks him to leave: "I can’t. I do belong here. These bad people are what I’m good at. Outtalking them, outthinking them. It’s what I am. And I like it. I like it more than anything I’ve ever done." Tyrion got rid of Slynt and put Pycell in his place, he talked the dumb guard into letting him out of his Sky Cell in the Eyrie, he used wildfire in the Battle of the Blackwater, he told different stories of Myrcella's possible political marriage match to different people, etc. But he also trusted Shae, gave Joffrey whores he then tortured & killed, sent Myrcella to Dorne where she will later be murdered, etc. Being clever doesn't mean being intelligent or wise. On top of all this Tyrion DOES love his family and that's his weakness. He tells Cersei he loves her children, clearly including the fact it didn't matter they were born of incest or hers. Everything else he loves is gone. His first wife, Shae, yes even his father. So he believes Cersei when she says she is pregnant & believes she wouldn't do anything to harm her child. He just wasnt there after when she was broken by the faith, lost Myrcella, inadvertently killed Tomen to see how that changed her. She has nothing to lose & so she will at this point take drastic if not mad measures to protect her and her child (I still think it's perfectly possible she never was pregnant though) because she really doesn't care if anyone else dies in the process.

It goes something like this: Season 5 finishes. The Monday Morning QB critic says: It's all downhill from here because the screenwriters took over. Newbie GOT viewer says after season 6 was over: This was the best GOT season. The Monday Morning QB critic says: Well season 7 is a shortened season, this is where GOT goes downhill with the screenwriters. Newbie GOT viewer says after season 7 was over: This season wasn't bad at all, I liked it. Monday Morning QB critic says: Wait till you see season 8, it's awful, the writers ruined it. Newbie GOT viewer says midway of season 8's episodes: What the hell are all you guys talking about? This season is great so far. I've witnessed this scenario time & time again, new reactors to the show being manipulated by outside forces to hate the show when the author didn't fulfill his obligation to complete the story in a book, criticism of the show by mostly book readers who started most of the farce after the show was over to win over simple minded viewers. Overlooking, that there were some dreadful mistakes made with the writing in the first 5 seasons too, if one chooses to look for them & dissect those episodes in the same way season 8 was dissected. Why the reach by Blake? Seriously, you are wondering why Yara head bopped Theon? I've seen dozens of reactions, Igli's reaction is on point with most people, he said "Fair." Stop overreaching, you're over analyzing things because the end left a bad taste in your mouth. Who even mentions that? There is no need to jump ahead with what happens later in the show & poison Igli's mind. Seriously, "You're not going to be disappointed with (Theon's) arc." SMH. "I'm like watching the show for the first time." Yet, you have so much to say about the future. The episode, like Igli said, was a build up & reunions. You're complaining about the pace of the writers? After season 1, HOTD, skipped 10-15 year spurts between episodes, several times, leaving the audience wondering what exactly is going on, on the screen? Where season 2, HOTD, stalled in a holding pattern for an entire season. If D&D did that in HOTD there would be a petition out to fire them.

The thing about Targaryens claiming dragons is that they can actually be killed so despite what Danny says rhaegal would’ve actually killed Jon regardless if 1. Didn’t want to bond and 2. If he didn’t have Targaryen blood. Rhaegal actually chose Jon as his rider and by all rights should’ve stayed by Jon’s side all the time regardless of Danny being his “mother” once a dragon bonds to a rider their loyalty is to their rider not Daenerys even if she raised him or not that is how bonding and claiming dragons go and what D&D screwed up big time with Jon and rhaegal. If a dragon doesn’t want you as their rider they will kill or if rhaegal was bonded to Daenerys rhaegal would’ve killed Jon there and then. A dragon’s loyalty is to their rider only like Drogon and Daenerys. I was so mad we didn’t get to see Jon and rhaegals relationship blossom like in HOTD and Daenerys and Drogon.

I know people feel like Tyrion was dumbed down last season. I think it was more realistic. In a foreign country why would he be the smartest person in the room? He is not familiar with the culture. Brienne and The Hound follows them. As Arya confronts Cersei she realises The Mountain is by her side, she attacks anyway and is swatted away by the Mountain. Jamie arrives and begs Arya to stop and tries to get in between. Brienne and the Hound arrives and attacks Jamie and The Mountain. (I didn't like that scene with Jamie and Brienne) i feel like this would be a better scene. Jamie trying to protect Cersei while grasping at his honour while fighting Brienne. Cersei runs away, but is followed by Arya. (I didn't like who Arya k*lls)

Jon deserves peace beyond the wall. Not another weight to carry. Theon has zero connection to our claim to Dragonstone. He isn't a leader. If he lives in the books it should be serving Yara or Sansa, but I like that he dies defending his true home after all he did to cause it to fall in the early seasons. The Wildlings do not kneel & cannot be a part of Westeros until it becomes a full democracy, not just monarchy by counsel vote. They would not just move into a random kingdom & stay there like they are good obedient little people now. Jaime living without Cersei I don't think will happen. Him being the little brother that causes her death is perfect especially that there was no intent or plot like Cersei always geared from Tyrion...it was just an accident and fate. Jorah lives for Dany. He has no family left and I don't see him returning to Bear Island. Having him around for Dany losing grip on her mission to gain the throne would be interesting because he has been there through many of her prior bad deductions (not the Tarlys though & think he would have stopped that) & watch her ignore him (who she has in the past, plus Barristan, plus Tyrion) when he would steer her away from "fire and blood". However he saw her come from the flames & that kind of devotion means he can't see her flaws. That magic "must" mean she is destined for the throne right? Doesn't matter what she actually DOES, right? So watching her in his homeland may be the wake up call he needs. Him dying defending her but knowing she was wrong would be a satisfying alternative. But I like what we got still as it was more personal and painful for Dany due to the desperation of the situation. Arya didn't learn to become a faceless man to kill Cersei. That wasn't her destiny at all. It doesn't take a faceless man to kill that character. Sandor isn't a knight & shouldn't be in a Kings Guard. Having all those characters together for their end games would have been too much & messy.

I am with Blake on the Sansa matter. Its one thing for Sansa to be skeptical, but there was no need to talk to Dany dripping with disdain. Even if she is justified to feel disdainful, the politically astute stance for Sansa to take is to be welcoming and charming…and then decide how she wants to move vis a vis Dany.

I completely disagree. Jon made the decision to surrender the North to Danerys without even consulting Sansa and the Northerners who elected him King of the North. Jon knows full well how much the Northerners distrust and hate the Targaryens because of how Rickard and Brandon Stark were captured and burned alive by King Aerys, as well as the fact that the Northerners believe that Rhaegar raped and murdered Lyanna Stark. There's also the fact that Danerys is demanding that they bend the knee and surrender to her when she hasn't done anything to earn their loyalty or allegiance. Sansa and the other Northerners have every right to hate and distrust the Targaryens, and Danerys hasn't done anything to dissuade those opinions.

I do not see how Dany or Jon should be king or queen just because they are Targaryn. Robert usurped the throne and named his "son" as heir. Cercei has now been crowned queen. Renly, and Stannis failed to press their claims. This is where the writing sucks for me. They just seemed to recognize ANYBODY just because they say so! But they are not ruling anything.

I never considered season 8 a real season. I always seen season 7 as a 13 episode season. That being said, the story was written and done with. It was just a matter of filming the winter parts appropriately. So the notion of pacing, story writing is moot to me. That was all done. Should watch all season 7-8 as one watch. IMO

@orphanedhanyou
10 күн бұрын
Its not that she wasnt able to, she was done with that. Sansa played it perfectly.

Its also because the story is so complex (not necessarily the end game but all the side stories & extra characters in the books). They already had to condense & weave all that together in different ways to work for the show, but without knowing what all that extraneous story may become & how it could effect the journey there is inevitably going to be a loss of richness & at this point in the story it's simply the end and so much of that just isn't needed to drag out and force the cast and crew into a 9th or 10th season. Cersei is evil but she has probably still killed less people. A dragon is not a child. She has very little control of them & that sacrifice was not willing.
