I always enjoy these game room videos, even if they're sort of a re-hash for those of us that have been here for awhile. It's impressive to see your commitment to have them _all_ ready to play. I had probably 10-12 consoles setup in a similar way for years and it just go to be too much for my space (especially as I moved around the country for work). 5-10x as many is an impressive feat for sure. These days I have mine stored in 2 gallon ziplok bags and smaller storage totes. Just grab one, plug it in quick, and play if I want. Not nearly as cool as what you've got going, but functional.

Sees your Ryo Hazuki San poster....... -Instant Respect earned. P. S. we waited 20 years for Shenmue 3 and were let down. Oh well. Shenmue 1 and 2 will forever live on in my heart,number 1 will forever be my favourite game of all time. It taught me so much about life as a kid who had 2 abusive violent parents, that game showed me the love and wonder that exists in the world.... Going home late at night in the game after investigating about Lan Di and playing at the arcade and working at the docks, through the quiet streets..... Knowing my bed and loving family awaited me at home, was everything to me... The music and people, the way everything felt so alive..... Literally the best game ever imo.

Excellent video. You inspired me the last couple months during quarantine to make my systems ready to play. Thank you so much for all of the helpful videos. Now I have 21 consoles, the PSVR, and 8 different media players connected to my TV and ready to use. Those Technical Pro power switch boxes you recommend were the game changer I needed to complete the project. Those 21 consoles and 8 media players are all connected via HDMI with six 5 port HDMI switch boxes. A future project will be connecting 10 or so additional consoles to a CRT TV. I completely understand what you mean about enjoying hooking up all the wires and making everything function easily. It's very fun for me as well. I hope to do a room tour video in a few months or whenever my gaming setup and collection feel "finished" :-)

All the HDMI systems hook into the Kinivo switchboxes. When I want to record one, I unplug it from the Kinivo and plug it into the El Gato, which is inches away. 1:50 I had to laugh because that is so logically ridiculous. Of course you see makeup videos as being less valuable if you don't use makeup. That's like saying "My videos are better than videos on KZitem explaining how wind turbines work because I'm not interested in that". Especially in the context of the previous sentence "Well I think you'll get more out of this video than just that". Those tutorials are incredibly popular because they are helpful for a huge audience, it's just not helpful to you. So they get tons out of it. It's just interesting to me the hierarchy of value someone can place on content when in reality it's just all perspective and has nothing to do with what the content actually accomplishes. Either way, cool set up you got there. I can only imagine the energy that went into it.
@geektoolkit

Really well done! Having that many consoles hooked up and working is an amazing feat. The one thing I don’t understand is why the suggested titles didn’t include “Where I store my multiple copies of Cheetah girls”?
@HowToX
4 жыл бұрын
I'm happy that you brought this up. I see a stark difference in the things you are comparing. The existence of makeup and the act of putting it on serves no purpose to society. If 100 years from now nobody still applies makeup, we would have lost nothing. Turbines have value and a purpose. Video games have entertainment value, and one might argue artistic value. I think if we lose video games, we lose something meaningful. Spending 20 minutes a day putting chemicals on one's face in order to impress others is an action that I think we should question, and to that end we should question why we would watch someone do it.
@welldoopwelldoop
4 жыл бұрын
@@HowToX I partially agree about the educational and practical use of something like turbines. I don't entirely agree with video games having more or less a cultural relevance above or lower than make-up. Using cosmetics on your face has existed in human cultures for a very, very long time. Once again, its value is really placed on the individual. Should someone feel inclined to put on make-up just because it's a societal norm? Definitely not. But there are people who genuinely enjoy affecting their appearance with makeup and I'd argue that experience is just as genuine as someone enjoying their time with a videogame. There are so many women who use make up because they enjoy it, myself included. It really wouldn't be fair to say all people who use make-up are doing it to impress others. Self expression and escapism is really important to humans, and I actually think video games and make up are really great examples of two sides of the same coin. One focuses on the self, to change one's appearance. The other focuses on the escape of one's self, to explore a new world.
