I paid $98 USD for these. Nowadays, I would recommend a Carby HDMI if you still use a DOL-001 with the Digital out

I just got insanely lucky and managed to buy an official cable for $10 at a trade-in game store. The people who sold it to me didn't know the value. T-T It looks so fucking good

I never owned it so I never tried it. I heard it works but you have to get the d terminal to component adapter.

You know the Wii plays gamecube games natively and has gamecube controller and memory card ports and you can buy component cables for it for like $6 USD? Then you can install the homebrew channel with nintendont and play both gamecube and wii games from a USB stick

As much as I love the GameCube I really didn’t like Nintendo from NES-GameCube due to the video output differences between NTSC and PAL. The only systems that I can recall but have parody in all regions for video output is the NES and the SNES (hello euro scart option) N64 - Composite only (PAL) Composite and S video (NTSC) GameCube - Composite, Scart and component (PAL, no 480 progressive scan with component PAL 60Hz only for supported games) composite, S-Video and components (NTSC, component output at 480p) Then from the Wii to present we’ve had complete uniformity across all territories for video output.

SuperYoshi So I’ve noticed that Japanese TVs with multiple inputs are a bit hard to come by and then there’s D1-D5. Obviously the higher the number the better the image quality but then which D# would suffice for the best image for the GameCube?

@ChaiRockyy

It’s pretty much Japan’s version of component cables. It has different connector. These cable are for North American TVs, which I don’t know why the box is in Japanese but that’s what it ships with so I guess it’s shipped straight from Japan if you purchased through Nintendo’s online store back in the day. As a guy who lived in Japan for two years they don’t have the red blue green cables on there TVs. I even when to there retro game stores and there enhanced TVs had the d terminal connector.

You probably should have waited for the Resurrection Industries Karby component cables since they will equal OEM quality and be a fraction of the cost. Alternatively you could've just bought a EON GCHD adapter to use for the digital port on that Gamecube. (The most recent version of the EON adapter, the MK2, offers both hdmi out and component out (simultaneously), which use the very affordable Wii component cables.) Any of these solutions would've been much cheaper and at the same time, more futureproof than "emptying your bank account" on OEM Gamecube componet cables.

@@ChaiRockyy thank you for replying, my tv does have the green/blue/red or Y/Pb/Pr inputs, but since it’s a big HD tv, would you think it’s pointless to buy this expensive cable, as in, would the picture maybe be distorted due to the TVs size? Sorry for all these questions
@ChaiRockyy

@@fdcapn1229 I would recommend buy a “EON GCHD MRK II.” You can use it for hdtv’s and crt TVs since it outputs both hdmi and Wii component cables.
