A video game gives you the option to receive an awesome sword, or continue playing. Which would you choose?
Here's the catch: You can only choose one. If you go to the next level, you can't ge the sword anymore. If you pick the sword, you can't play anymore.
It would be evident, then, that getting the sword would be pointless if we can't play with it, because the actual act of playing the game is what we boot our consoles for. It's equivalent to saying "Hard work is its own reward".
But unlike real life, we can more easily map out our goals in games. And we may unconsciously sacrifice playtime with efficiency.
So I have a suggestion...
