This is a 2005 interview with Gandulf Hennig about the making of his wonderful documentary, Gram Parsons: Fallen Angel. He discusses the reasons he became interested in making the film, some of the difficulties he encountered as an unknown filmmaker working on his first project, and the trouble he had obtaining funding for the work, especially in Europe where his subject, Gram Parsons, was not well known. It is an excellent interview which gives a behind-the-scenes view of beginning and completing such work, as well as insight into the unique aspects of making a film about Gram. My purpose in posting it is to give Parsons fans an understanding of the motivation for such a project, an insight into the obstacles that had to be overcome and a look into Hennig's approach to his subject. I found his dedication and perseverance inspiring and believe others will also.
