was in college when the pandemic hit, so i went home and didn’t have shit to do all day. every night I’d wait till my house went to sleep, go out on the porch with the dog, smoke, and bump music off my phone’s speakers. vividly remember looking out at an empty road, in an empty town, in a time where everything was perfectly still. nothing going on the next day, or the day after that, or that…just staring at a dead street, smoking weed, listening to this song, night after night. Always will bring me back to a weird era, and a weird feeling that i doubt i’ll come across again, for good or bad

Memphis, Georgia, and Texas from 90-09 is so underrated. The production on the beats alone was so ahead of it's time, we're just now seeing mainstream attention for trance-ish lo-fi beats with delay and distorted bass... Memphis did it 30 years ago.

He definitely influenced 3 6 mafia since they grew up together and gangsta pat got a major deal first out of everyone in Memphis. I'm old school, I'm like this song taking me back to my childhood for some reason, then it hit me, he snuck it past everyone, but I caught it. He sampled Luther Vandross make me a believer song. I get the best of both worlds.

Shit this got stepped on back in the day it was underground. You wouldn't hear this on the radio or MTV... not even BET. Only your true homies bumped it.
