Old video but still valuable to this date, thx for posting. For the MAQ Gantt, is it possible to have milestones show up as diamonds? I couldn't figure out how it works. I tested with a simple excel sheet and managed to get everything to look the way I wanted, but I wasn't sure if its able to display milestones as diamonds, for example: 'Go-Live Germany'. I wondered if you have any experience with this.

Hi Zeidinho, Thanks for watching. I really love this video. It get's so much views even to this day, and it spurred me on to create a whole playlist about the Gantt chart visuals. kzitem.info/door/PLBE7Yqq2lkv6-mN1EK2_ry7bai_zpTQ_2 Regarding your question, this is a premium (paid) feature. From their website and demo file: To better visualize Milestones under all tasks, Gantt Chart offers a Premium feature for showing Milestone shapes on tasks. Drag a date type field into the Milestones* data field to load the a milestone shape for each task. On dragging more date columns, more milestones are plotted on each task. There are separate milestone settings added in formatting pane per milestones (Maximum 5 fields allowed in Milestones). Users can customize milestone shape and color. When you hover over a milestone shape, you can see the milestone name and formatted date. This (first) plan unlocks below additional features Progress Bar: Show progress bar on tasks based on a measure value Task Status: Show custom colored task status flags based on a categorical field Task Milestones: Plot date fields as milestones on task bar with custom colored shapes Row Configuration: Customize the row height and task bar radius

@@TheProjectCorner thanks a million. I'll get the premium version and try this. In my excel, do I have to have milestone dates in a separate column, and will it be labelled on the chart? I was hoping I could have all the key tasks (i.e category) in one column, and in a separate column I could have a drop down to confirm if it's a milestone or not, and for the date,I could enter the same date in Start and Finish, but I'm not sure the MAQ Gantt will be able to interpret this. The reason I'm asking is because I'm dealing with many different stakeholders including from business and there's simply no PM tool (I have a few known ones at my disposal) that can generate the report I need so I thought I'd do everything on excel and then produce a powerBI report to show status of project. I'll check the other videos you shared in the link, maybe the answer is there

Hi Tom, I'm connecting to my Project Online environment. But you could also create a simple excel table with "name", "Start" and "end" dates to follow along in most of the video. There is a lot of content available for you to learn how to connect with odata and Project Online. But without a proj online source that wouldn't be interesting for you I think.

Hi Marketa, I haven't tried this myself yet. But I'd asume you will require to create a measure that takes the datediff from both values. And if you have that you can include "Duration" in some of the Gantt visuals to get the desired scenario. I don't think you will have an option to combine it with actual start and finish dates though. I'll keep this in mind and if I find a solution I'll loop back to you.

Hi, good day! The MAQ Gantt, provides you with basic information of each project in just one glimpse, which made it my favorite app to use! I just have a question... I am trying to set colors according to the Status of the project, which I have selected in Legend field... the problem is that I am not allowed to select which color I need each legend to be, it either lets me put everything in a single color or sets automatically any color for every legend, it doesn't make sense to see an "on track" project painted in red! Do you know if there's a fix for this? :)

Hi Grace B, From top of mind (because I'm on a vacation) I believe the colours are number coordinated. Meaning that you should change your "on track" value to a certain number. I don't know the numbers by heart.

Hi, this question relates to the MAQ Gantt. Did you configure your date fields (start and finish) in any specific way. Each time I try this from scratch I drop in Product Ref and Title as 'Categories', Forecast Start Date as 'Start' and Forecast Finish Date as 'End'. When your start and end are defined they show as "Earliest..." mine say "First..." which makes me think it's a formatting issue. Once compiled, it shows all my products on the left pane, but the timeline for the gantt section on the right is just a scale of '0' to '1' and, therefore, no bars show for the products. Thanks, Jim.

Hi James, that does sound like formatting. Looks like it sees your dates as numbers. Head to the column, select it on the list. Once you did that you should see a modify ribbon menu up on top.
