why didnt you pour a slab, then float plywood...then put down the puzzle mats? and why didnt you insulate this then hang drywall? This couldve come out a lot better....maybe im being too critical as im a contractor/mma practitioner....but....maybe better luck next time.

Mainly because I didn't want to invest too much money. We were only at that house a few years, and it got the job done. My new gym is a little more advanced ;) love your ideas though, send me a link to your gym so I can check out some areas of improvement!

Nice remodel. If you ever have problems with those mats separating use extra wide black duck tape and take the joints. If it is the textured ones than tape the bottoms. You can usually tape them in 8x8 sections and they do well.

That 1/4" flooring is in NO WAY a bjj floor. Try doing takdown on that and tell me how your bones and joints feel. I would suggest saving some money and putting in a thicker padding. The heavy bag hanger should be closer to the wall as well so you dont have to move it everytime you want to roll. Other than that good job, looks great.

@502Sizzle as a Kenpoist, wrestler and just martial artist in general I suggest looking for regular mats to put on top of the puzzle mats, they work great with the puzzle mats for throws, check different martial arts sites or they have some at Wal-Mart

@AFighterUncaged they work great for rolling, if you wanted them a little better for throws you could put 1 or 2 layers of cheap carpet padding underneath. I didn't do this because my floor was not level. There is a company that will make custom size vinyl tarps to cover it all as well. I don't remember the name off the top my video but one of the Gracie's talks about it in a video. Search Gracie Mats and it may come up.

@502Sizzle I thought about drywall, but decided the money could be better spent on landscaping lol... All and all the garage renovation took about $300 for the floor and paint. The equipment I collected over the years, drywall would have probably cost me another 2 or 3 hundred, so it could wait lol.

@jblessd562 mats work great for basic rolling. There 3/4 inch foam. Fine for double legs and single legs but judo throws can take there toll on you. Like I said before layer some carpet pads under and you can make some great ones.

Hello there, have you tried MuscLeader (look on Google)? On their website you will find a useful free video demonstrating how to pack on noteworthy muscles very fast whilst dropping body fat at the same time. Brandon or many other guys like him experienced good success using this system. I hope it works for you too.

Hey there, have you considered "Musclegends" (search on Google)? There you will find a useful free video featuring the way to develop noticeable lean muscle easily. This made it easier for Brandon to break through his body building stagnation and grow toned lean muscle with no fat super fast. Hopefully it will help you also...

And speromma yeah the mats not thick but the bag idea is stupid all it teaches you is too move forward and back you gotta have at least 5ft of space on each side of the bag to teach you angles and messer8989 that's top everlast equipment don't you see the heavy bag you must get suckered by all those brand names

Bob Fisher so they are 1/2" thick mats from Walmart 6 for I think 20 bucks. Put a layer of carpet padding underneath, preferably from Craigslist and it's cheap. It's about 1.25 per sqft for the mats I believe 12sqft for 20 bucks.
