Lyrics: I'm only happy when it rains I'm only happy when it's complicated And though I know you can't appreciate it I'm only happy when it rains You know I love it when the news is bad Why it feels so good to feel so sad? I'm only happy when it rains Pour your misery down Pour your misery down on me Pour your misery down Pour your misery down on me I'm only happy when it rains I feel good when things are goin' wrong I only listen to the sad, sad songs I'm only happy when it rains I only smile in the dark My only comfort is the night gone black I didn't accidentally tell you that I'm only happy when it rains You'll get the message by the time I'm through When I complain about me and you I'm only happy when it rains Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down) Pour your misery down on me Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down) Pour your misery down on me Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down) Pour your misery down on me Pour your misery down You can keep me company As long as you don't care I'm only happy when it rains You wanna hear about my new obsession? I'm riding high upon a deep depression I'm only happy when it rains Pour some misery down on me I'm only happy when it rains Pour some misery down on me I'm only happy when it rains Pour some misery down on me I'm only happy when it rains Pour some misery down on me I'm only happy when it rains Pour some misery down on me Pour some misery down on me Pour some misery down on me Pour some misery down on me Pour some misery down on me Pour some misery down on me

I was 24, and listening to this on my boom box sitting out by the pool at my apartment complex, along with Black Hole Sun (Soundgarden), Champagne Nupernova (Oasis), Undone - The Sweater Song (Weezer), Everything Zen (Bush), Vasoline (Stone Temple Pilots), Tomorrow (Silverchair), Possum Kingdom (Toadies) and Deja Voodoo (Kenny Wayne Shepherd). I look back at the 90's so fondly...that decade was easily the peak of our country culturally IMHO. Then came 9/11, wars, terrorism, and then something even worse than you can imagine...political correctness, social justice and cultural marxism. They are a cancer eating away at the soul of our country and I believe that tumor is in stage 4 now, and our country is at the crossroads. I come back to listen to music from the 90's (grunge and post grunge was my favorite), old school rock from the late 60's and the 70's (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc) or blues (pretty much everything from Buddy Guy to Junior Kimbrough to SRV to KWS to Joe Bonamassa to Marcus King) to lift my spirits and take me back to better times.

I'm only happy when it rains I'm only happy when it's complicated And though I know you can't appreciate it I'm only happy when it rains You know I love it when the news is bad And why it feels so good to feel so sad I'm only happy when it rains Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me I'm only happy when it rains I feel good when things are going wrong I only listen to the sad, sad songs I'm only happy when it rains I only smile in the dark My only comfort is the night gone black I didn't accidentally tell you that I'm only happy when it rains You'll get the message by the time I'm through When I complain about me and you I'm only happy when it rains Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down) Pour your misery down on me (Pour your misery down) Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down) Pour your misery down on me (Pour your misery down) Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down) Pour your misery down on me (Pour your misery down) Pour your misery down You can keep me company As long as you don't care I'm only happy when it rains You wanna hear about my new obsession? I'm riding high upon a deep depression I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me) I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me) I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me) I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me) I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me).

Cuando conocí a Garbage hace cinco años no pensé que me enamoraría tanto de ellos. El final de Cruel Summer y está canción fue la combinación perfecta, así como el inicio. Cool!

The 90’s were such a wonderful time to be an angsty teenager. The music matched it so perfectly. Driving around with a friend that had a CD player in the car, jamming out to bands like this, sorting the grass from the sticks and seeds…good times.

Kinda funny comment to be honest. Considering the whole song is a tongue and cheek thing about the at the time current alternative music scene. Kinda like Type O Negatives Black no1.
