A new ash placement garden, called the Garden of Memories, has opened at Carr Villa Memorial Park.
The garden has been established on a previously vacant area of land in the southeast of the park.
Capable of housing more than 4700 ash placements, the garden features granite columbarium walls and plantings set in earthwork terraces, as well as irrigation systems, accessible pathways, power conduits and lighting.
The project is part of the City of Launceston's Accelerated Capital Works Program, an initiative of the Community Care and Recovery Package, Tasmania's largest local government response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
