It’s good practice when Mitre or compass scribing skirting boards to fit the scribed mould oriented to your line of sight when entering the room

£170k for charity 👏🏼👏🏼amazing work. A tip for Brandon, round the nosing/window board with the plane before notching round the reveals. Much easier and no breakout if using timber.

Re electrics The plugs are fine, competent people can do that sort of thing The consumer unit is a whole other kettle of onions and you really do need a proper spark to hook that up because testing etc As for the flooring, have you always used laminate or have you used lvt or something else in the builds? Keep up the great work, I've watched almost every minute 😁

Not a chippy here but when I fitted our window boards in my house I ran a mini router down either edge before I cut the horns into the sill. Might save you some time?

Brilliant vid👍 quick question. I have a really long wall that I need to join 2 pieces of skirting. Is there a good way to join them that gives a nice joint or should I go a head and just but joint it? Thanks.

mitre them mate, put 1st piece on with 45degree cut cut back to you so you can see the cut, put second piece on with 45 cut so you can't see the cut and fit with mite mate or PVA, pin joint if PVA, sand and its a good one! hope this makes sense

Great vid! Just a question about the skirting board - don’t you have to leave a gap between the bottom of the skirting and the laminate floor so the floor can freely expand? In the process of building my own garden room and I’m really confused on what the best way to finish the floor is

The expansion on the sides of the laminate not above. The laminate goes under the skirting so it can expand outwards. You leave a gap between the laminate and walls which is covered by the skirting on top of the gap.

@@CraveThatCoin thanks for the reply! Will the laminate still be able to expand outwards if the skirting is pushing it down?

but the move away from real wood is spoiling the finish and creating mountains of fibre dust 9:37
