I think, the 305m is simply because, that's 1000 ft.

Hi Steve. Have you considered using SWA armoured Cat6? - that’s what I’m going to run to my garden room.

Hello Steve!! I have not really though about it as my sparks supply all these bits and bobs so I just leave him to crack on :)

The build is looking great! I have a question regarding the SWA cable and wiring regulations.. Is it ok to run it along the fence line without burying it 600mm down? 🤔 There is already a cable (installed by the previous owners of my house) running 20m down the garden to a shed. I know this will need to be replaced as it's very old and the conductors look to be only 2.5 mm.. So, if I'm running a new length of 10mm SWA, do the regs permit running along the fence line above ground? There is no chance of it being struck by a stray spade as there is an established hedge in front of the fence. What way will Andy be routing the SWA cable on this build?

Hello Todd!! Great question fella and the answer is that it is absolutely fine to run it above ground down the side of the garden and is all certified at the end of the job no problem at all! If I remember I shall get Andy to explain this in tomorrow's video! :)

Hello John!! So the CAT6 is actually wrapped in a black piece of plastic tubing thats designed for that. He just needs to bring one more 10m length to put on the last bit ;)
