Enjoyed this. Just to add to the feeding chart and dosages. On most charts it only gives week 1 and 2 for veg. This is mainly for plants that have a short veg period, or for the cuttings in their last 2 weeks of rooting. But to get the best results especially from seed, it's best too remember that from cracking, to the time the first true leaves are out, isn't classed as veg, that's your seedling stage. Up to the first small leaves are out, water is your only feed. From then to the first true leaves are out (the three petal leaves) it's best too only use a start neutrient (not the baseline). When those first true leaves are devolped that's when you start your veg time (usually 4 weeks), and that's when you give them half what is recommended on the chart for the "week 1" veg (or week 3 too you). By the time you get too week 4, you should be near where the chart is telling you be at. So week 1 and 2 should be worked as week 3 and 4 to the average grower.

@@zgoat4127 sometimes it's better to take a bit more time to explain something. And in this case I feel this is a major contributor to getting the best start you can. Just looking at time periods is a mistake.

@@nihilityjoey ur slowing urself down not feeding for 4 weeks also cannabis is dicot it starts with 2 cotyledons not 3 I get my first set of true leaves by then end of day 4-7 which you can wait to start feeding till then or you could wait till the cotyledons start dying off, but in the end all ur doing is wasting time but if you would rather save the nutes then you can and in some cases it makes sense not usually though
@nihilityjoey
3 жыл бұрын
@@evanlove3015 I think there is some confusion here. When you crack your seed, the plant has 2 leaves (cotyledons), as you have mentioned, these leaves have all of the nutrients the plant needs until its next set of leaves form. These are single petal leaves. Once these leaves have formed this is when you should start to use your starter nutrients NOT the main neuts, and you will use this until the first TRUE leaves appear and have come out properly, on cannabis, these are three petal leaves. This is when you start your veg period, and start feeding your main nutrients at half strength - for the reasons I gave. This is classed as the veg stage not really because of the first true leaves, but because you will (or should) see the first leaves and branches forming in the nodes, or the first signs of vegetation. From then you will start your veg count. But even then I dont really count the weeks, even with fem seeds I wait till I see signs of sex (hairs) wait a week then switch to flower, this makes sure I have a strong healthy plant READY to go into flower. Nowhere did I say you shouldnt feed for 4 weeks, we are talking about coco or hydro here. The chart says week 1 and 2 for flower. I'm saying you should take these as (or as close to) as weeks 3 and 4. And if it says on the chart......use 2ml per ltr at week 1, you should be about 1.5ml per ltr at this "week 1" or as I said week 3 for you. So from your week 1 of veg - or when the first true leaves are out, you should be starting at about 0.5ml per ltr of your main neuts. This will give you faster healthier growth.

I just couldn't set it and forget it. My luck 2 weeks later I'd be looking at a catastrophic disaster. Dont believe anything should be able to claim organic that hasn't been grown in soil. Try explaining to someone that you grow organically without soil. Then explain that you grow organically in soil. Which would you have to have an in depth conversation for them to understand how you grew something? Not knocking other grow styles, lots of amazing techniques and all have brought good knowledge to the overall. But soil less growing techniques is a stretch to claim organic in my opinion. Great listen👍

You can also use dry ice and purchase that at your local ice distributor in the city for I think $10 per pound and one block last over 24 hours.. you can set it in close to your tent or in your tent and it'll definitely give your plants a CO2 treatment... And it's fairly cheap and you don't have to worry about tanks..

You might try tubes running through a berm of soil. Earthship homes have a simple setup you could copy and adapt. The heat of the greenhouse sucks air through the pipe that's buried and has an entrance on the other side of the berm. The natural convection will cool your space with no electricity or machinery. If I get to build my greenhouse I will cool it like that. Earthships are in the desert and don't have AC.
