I have the same brand except mine is square. I had the round one and loaned it to my sister in law to make some deer jerky with, I never got it back. She sold it months later in a garage sale for $2.00. I was not happy when I ask for it back. She didn't even offer me the $2.00 or to buy me another one. So, when I replaced it, I went with the square one. I found I could get more product in the square one. When I use mine because they don't have a off/on switch I plug mine into power strip with a switch. So, I just turn the power strip off and lift the top off and sit it aside to rotate the trays.

Hi, we grew elephant garlic. My neighbor Fred has some that has been in his garden space for 4 years. Fred bought the home across the road from me when my older neighbor Ron died. For a number of years I helped Ron with the garlic. So, I always had a lot of garlic on hand. Fred is a long haul trucker and the garlic has continued to come up each year as has the asparagus in that garden space. Fred told me to start harvesting it all. No one attends to this garden space. So, I am going to start harvesting some of the garlic that comes up and leave some for next year. I have done that in my own gardens so it does pretty good. We have been getting garlic bubs/cloves that are the size of base balls or bigger from this garlic when we planted it in late October and harvested it May to June. I got a real good deal on Red, Orange and yellow bell peppers this summer. I dehydrated 45 of them. Got 9 half pints of pepper flakes and 3 half pints of pepper powder. I like putting them in smaller usable jars. I vacuum seal them in mason jars or put an oxygen absorber in the jars that vacuum seal the jar. Thanks for sharing the tips on dehydrating.

I had never heard of leaving garlic in the ground. I may try that to see what it does. We normally harvest all the bulbs and the replant the individual cloves in the fall. Thank you for sharing!

I would just try a little and see what it does on you property. If you have a lot of squirrels they may dig them up and eat them like they do flower bulbs. I gave some to my sister in law and she grows them in a large flower pot on her deck. She leaves them there all year too. We planted some for my daughter at her house in a 4 ft x ft bed. She harvested some the first year and left the rest. But the deer came and pulled them up and ate them. You will have to tell me in a couple years how they did for you.

Marcheta Albert that is a garlic peeler sold by pampered chef. It is just a silicone tube. T

The garlic peeler used was bought from Pampered chef, but after a quick search online it looks like you can purchase a similar product from a number of sources. The peeler in the video is smooth inside and out. Thanks for watching!

Hopefully you’ll see this. Do you just put a lid/ring on the Mason jar to store, or do you vacuum seal the jar? (I know some people say just putting things in a jar with a lid makes them airtight, but in my opinion, there’s still air in it if you don’t vacuum seal it.)

We store some with regular lids/rings and they have stayed dry for several years. We have also used bale top jars/ rubbers and vacuum sealed them. So far all are good and we have not lost any of our dried items. The key is being sure your food is fully dry before putting them in storage and sealing the jars tightly. Thanks for asking!🤗
