Awesome job, love that you did the review in flight. Made it even better for me.

CAE- We have a Phenom 300 Full Flight Simulator in Dallas with the G3000. It is quite an impressive system. We also have a Lear 75 with G5000 which is equally impressive.

It would appear that touch screen avionics is the wave of the future. If you know how to use the system properly then there is a wealth of information at your fingertips unlike conventional avionics systems. I imagine it takes a significant amount of training to become proficient with the Garmin G3000 using the touch screen. The Phenom 300 is a fantastic airplane flying way above commercial traffic so I would imagine it gets you to your destination much quicker. Enjoyed your presentation and the capabilities of the Phenom 3000!

@James, the G3000 is indeed a powerful system with tons of features. Most pilots will tell you it’s an intuitive system, though, and one of the easiest glass-cockpits to learn.

Are you able to add fix info like you can on something like an a320?

When you have a GPU plugged in. How many amps does the avionics draw from the GPU? Also can you run the aircraft air conditioner off of a GPU like you can on the CE525? THANKS

You can run the air conditioning off of the GPU very effectively. Also, we recommend the forum, Phenompilots.org. It is a great resource for more technical Phenom questions.

A system designed to 'impress' but not really a full FMS/INS system. Basically a fancy GPS. And whats with the M.68 cruise speed? Why have an jet that can go M.78 and fly it a Cessna Slowtation speed?

I see by your photo that you are a professional pilot. I'm surprised by your comments. FMS has nothing to do with INS. Why would you even mention INS? GPS is far, repeat far, superior to an INS system, with far better positional accuracy. INS systems are going away much like ADF approaches are going away. The G3000 (as well as the GTN 650/750) systems have full RAIM FDE capability with LPV approaches. You cannot get a GPS system better than that. Even in a jetliner.

Whenever your $200,000 digital nav/com system fails, go to your $5,000 analogue instruments to save your ass.

it's all really quite beautful isn't it. however, your flying a computer. that's what all these 'huge flat screen's are now. you must learn as much about 'going into endless menu's and pages, layers and layers of touchscreen' options, etc.... it IS very cool...but somehow also, it's rather dulled-down', the old days of more 'iron knuckles' flying'. simple VOR, steam gauges and setting your own power and nav course. such is progress huh?
