Thanks man. I always thought that the sensitivity increased or decreased power coming from the transducer. You can teach an old dog new tricks lol

You don't leave it hooked up? I mounted mine on a track mount on my kayak. I haven't ever moved it. I leave the heading line & lvs34 distance the same 99% of time so I can reference how big fish are. It definitely makes a big difference on approaching waypoints. Keeps my screen in correct orientation so it doesn't spin/rotate & makes waypoints more accurate.

I've been starting with 67-69 also Fr m watching your settings vid a while ago. It's been good for me most of the time also. So are you using your steady cast heading line set at same distance as you transducer distance? That's what I've always done. Definitely helps with accuracy on casting distance & my distance from waypoints.

I noticed you are using the new GPSMAP 1243xsv unit. Do you prefer it over the 1222? Are you a convert to touchscreen? Did you have a conversion experience with the 1243xsv? Please advise

Ive done very few settings on my 106v and my screen is clear as a whistle my gain usually about 62 to 65

Clarity isn’t always a good thing. It’s overhyped and honestly if it’s too clear you’re missing a lot.
