Great man or not, he still is an adulterer and fraud. He stole the tune from Kenny Loggins song "Convictions of the Heart." Kenny sued him over it. Oh and ask Sandy Mahl about- "So blame it on your lying, cheating cold, dead beatin, two timing, double dealing mean, mistreatin, lovin' heart"- Patty Loveless. You're only sorry when you get caught.

This song always did get me going. It's very energetic, and yes, passionate, but it also kinda was like a "I dare you" sort of song to me. Those who know me know that, the worse thing someone can do, is tell me that I can't do something. Especially if I know I can. One example is, in Basic Training in the Navy, one of my Company Commanders tried to tell me that I wouldn't be able to pass Test 2, which was the Basic First Aid test. My reply? "Sir? Watch me." Needless to say, I scored a 94% correct, and the Company average was 91%. There have been plenty more examples since, but you get the idea. :D

This song was written just for you! It is a dare you kind of song it offers you a challenge. Can you brave the flames of rejection and be a rebel? Are you able to walk into the enferno when nobody follows. Anyone can stand for something not everyone has conviction. Right now it's just jumping from the boiling pot to flame! It's nothing a dare you.

@@cmonman7664 in many interviews Garth Brooks gives credit to Billy Joel The Piano Man who originally wrote the song along with Jenny Yates who updated it... Many song writers & contributors go unofficially credited on music liners. It's fairly common. Ex : many of the King's Elvis Presley hits we're originally written by the late Eddie Thomas Rabbit with NO mention. Some artists are happy with just getting their talent out there in what ever media with or without credit or payment.

Ah yes. That song from that one dude that no one remembers from anything but "footloose" and "danger zone", to whom Brooks supposedly totally directly to his face admitted he stole the song. Like how Katy Perry totally cribbed from Joyful Noise. You can totally see how similar they are, except for involving different instruments, being different styles of music, different lyrical content, different emotional emphasis, etc. All you need to do to copy a song is have the same pace, after all. It's why there are thousands of settled lawsuits over four cord progressions every year!
