Johnny Lang, Talon Latz, Danny Donato too...none of them doing anything remotely original. Just playing the same pentatonic shapes over and over again, writing the same songs about "when my train pulls in" and even singing tired WAY overdone blues covers like "brights lights big city". For the love of god do something else....then maybe the world will pay attention. Gary Clark is a glorified festival blues guitarist who has nothing new to contribute to guitar vocabulary and everyone knows it but they just won't say it. The line at 9:10 just proves everything I'm saying. Repetitive, soulless, generic, and bland. Highly doubt he even knows what he's playing, and that's why he can't do anything with it.

@@matthewosburn I don't see what SRV has to do with it... At least in this concert, Gary Clark Jr doesn't have much to do with SRV. he's got his own sound and a hell of a pair of hands, with a world of his own. and he's very talented.

Best concert I’ve ever attended… So grateful as a fan to see Gary finally getting what he’s earned.. 🙏🏼☮️
