Gary was without a doubt the greatest guitarist that has ever lived! Yes there have indeed been other great guitar players, but Gary was just a cut above the rest. He could play fast, but always kept it melodic, unlike others who just played fast and it sounded like a series of fast notes that didn't particularly fit together! R.I.P Gary, you were the best! Cheers. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦

Gary was awesome. You should check out another legendary guitarist, Rory Gallagher. Rush opened for Rory in the 70's and Rory opened for Rush in the 80's. He inspired Alex Lifeson, who called Rory "amazing". Try checking out "A Million Miles Away" or "Who's That Coming?" from Irish Tour '74, or "Tattoo'd Lady" from the 1977 Rockpalast performance for a sample of his skills.

"He's constantly shredding." - for better or worse, the perfect summation of Gary Moore.

But his shredding has substance to it... its like..emotional shredding... If that makes sense? Its not just playing fast to play fast....

What many people don't know is that he hadn't been able to play for well over a year because of an operation on his hand that went wrong, he got asked to do this last minute and you can see the pain he's experiencing but the joy to play again at the same time

Listen to his live Voodoo Child cover. I think it might be as good as Hendrix, and better than SRV.

Years before Moore died I read an interview with one of his road crew who said he was the easiest person in the world to look after. All he wanted in his hotel room was a guitar and an amp that was switched on. They could have put him in a garden shed and he wouldn’t have cared so long as he had a guitar to play. John 5 seems to be similar: plays guitar to think, relax, while watching TV, and on stage. He has a lot of stuff on KZitem and I’ll add a link. After listening to Gary Moore playing Parisienne Walkway. kzitem.info/news/bejne/wq94k52oZoB5lWk

My late love and bass instructor (he was a guitarist, RIP) liked to jam out on this one with me - it's an easy bassline for a starter player, and it let him have fun on guitar and sing. Gawd, I miss him.

Gary was an incredible guitarist and we all have our opinions but Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix were the best in my book, revolutionary and unique. Gary was incredible and this is no disrespect but he was just a very well versed rock and blues guitarist, imo there was nothing particularly unique about his style, I feel the same way about SRV but people don’t wanna hear it lmao. Van Halen (or most 80’s rock) isn’t really my vibe but at least he was very unique in his playing
