There's something about 70s British punk . Today they are so honest and tell you how it is, they don't care about political correctness or feelings.. something so genuine.. kinda like John Lydon.. tells you the truth even if it hurts your feelings

I like when he says "In 100 years some nerd will find a way to live to 200 and 300 and we are going to miss it.." I thought the same thing. I feel kind of bummed that I was born probably like only 100 years too early (which is a short time when you consider that modern humans have been here for like 300,000 years) So I realize that I was born just short of the golden age when people will live 100's of years, have vaccines and cures for all diseases, be able to enhances their bodies and minds, grow new teeth, stay young forever with technology and it is all probably scheduled to begin the day after I die.

Two English men speak. Not of pride, but note there is no anger, just a gentle debate, with utter honesty. Just lovely. Helps me. My advice. If you understand this interview, the problems they both had, mentally. Buy the book, by Steve Jones, Lonely Boy. An education on how to slowly become normal, but not too much, as that would be a lie. Accepting. Thats it. By the way the book ends with one word. .....

Jonesy's definitely more perceptive about the state of world affairs than he lets on. He makes out he's an uncultured yobbo but right back to the days of Grundy in 76 he showed he was on a different level of awareness than your average Joe just by openly showing his contempt for the British institution of mind control TV. He's just got that spirit that can instinctively see through bullshit and nasty unpleasant men in power but it's a British trait the establishment put in working class people not to voice and Jonesy always gives hints of his thinking processes but is reluctant to elaborate because a thinking working class Brit feels they've become middle class if they articulate it too well. The working class were taught to shut up and the middle class were allowed a voice as long they were idealistically neutered and diametrically opposed to the vulgar working classes politically, socially and most importantly intellectually. The old divide and conquer tactics observed by all power systems down the ages.

Depends upon what you are looking for. Yes, this Numan interview was a great talk between two interesting guys...but not much music was talked about. Jones does have music people on as guests so music should be somewhere in the discussion. But even without music, it was a great interview. I have been watching these Jones interviews and the best was the one with the two Simple Minds guys. The early punk days were really captured in some of the stories. Talk of Richard Jobson and Stuart Adamson and John McGeoch really painted a nice picture of those times.

Pubs are closing at a rate of knots why can't we bring back smoking and stop supermarkets selling booze *somehow. The pub was the centre of the community in my dads day he said during the 60s saturday night West London the pubs were full and always always there was a band on or a singalong on the piano. The pubs were nationalised during the war to keep the country going and they're dying on the arse.

Mad men have always been in charge of things, a few voices speak out but the masses just plod along... go with the flow as directed by those with the muscle and/or money. The only difference just now is that we have the nuclear threat, which has been and continues to be a major problem. The only way we can change is for everyone to leave the present set up behind. Money is unnecessary all we need is complete co-operation, living with one another for one another.
