I think the dancing looks odd in parts of the video because it's being played in reverse.....watch the smoke

The funky fretless bass in this album is addictive, it was a strong step in a new direction but I loved it. It had an uplifting feel even though the lyrics had serious context. The sound is a tad muffled on this video compared to vinyl or cd, but it's still one of my favorites.

I have to admit, when I first bought the album, I hated it. But I have to admit, it has really grown on me. It's a great mix of funk and synths. The Image Is is my favorite song from it.

@@ajs41 I have no idea, maybe because Dance before it had been so wonderfully experimental, and so it was a little different compared to that one in that aspect.

Gary discovered bassist Pino Palladino playing in a club, and immediately invited him to play on the "I Assassin" album. This was Palladino's first appearance on record, and from that point onward he rocketed to an incredible career as one of the most dependable, in-demand bassists in the business. Gary basically just told him, "Pino, do your thing," and turned him loose on every song. Numan has a very discerning ear for talented musicians and helps bring out the best in them.

Interesting but a little disappointing, I've been familiar with this video for some time now I have it on a DVD. It could have been so much more. Gary's love for Ferraris is obvious, he mentions it in some of the song lyrics for the album this song is sourced from, I Assassin. He's also a bit hair challenged at this point in time, hats were a necessity. I don't Like or Dislike this video but I do very much like the song, it's a personal favorite along with the B side, The Image Is, an absolute masterpiece! Happy 40th Anniversary Mr. Webb, thank you so much. My tribute video, Gary Numan 40 will be posted soon....

This is one of those songs that's very hard to find in crystal clear quality unless you own the record or a very well kept cassette tape recording. My mom had a mixtape with this on there and I used to laugh at it because it sounded like someone was playing it outside of the car.
