I am so glad I subscribed to your channel. These older cases are fascinating. As a victim of a rape attempt at knifepoint, when I fully believed I would die, I know that evil people don't look like the usual scary cartoon characters we see. The harsh reality is that they look "normal". Mine looked like a very cordial neighbour or pal. I'm now mentally strong and refuse to be defined by what happened.

I was drugged by a nightclub bouncer. Someone had stolen my money & I needed to get home. The barmantold me to go to the bouncer. I happened to recognise him as he used to date an friend who I lost touch with. He said I can drop you off I finish soon I will get you a drink. I thought he was being kind & I felt relieved to be going home. Big mistake! I don't remember leaving the club, I woke up in a flat with him doing things to me. I couldn't scream or anything I was too out of it. He offered to drop me home. I came too & told him to drop me off well before my house. I waited for him to go out if sight then ran home . I couldn't tell my parents. I couldn't tell anyone because I wasn't sure what happened. I kept it to myself for 16 years & finally told police. They tried their best but didn't have enough evidence. He admitted he used a red car for work which was the car I remember. The courts said it couldn't go any further. I could kick myself for not having the guts to go straight to the police but I was frightened & couldn't face what happened to me. I even had a morning after pill to make sure I wouldn't get pregnant. Everytime I watch & hear of these men do stuff it makes me shudder

The scary thing is that Gary Ridgeway, actually passed a lie detector test back in 1987, years before they figured out that he was the actual killer. An innocent taxi driver failed a lie detector test regarding the murders, around the same time that Ridgeway passed his lie detector test.

It's weird how Bundy helped the police investigators in the search for the Green River Killer. He was incredibly accurate in his observation about the suspect revisiting the dump sites after the crimes and changing his dump sites to avoid detection. Bundy's hope was that they would prolong his life in exchange for helping the investigators find the GRK, and also in finding the remains of his killings. Clearly, Ridgway's plea bargain was the better approach and that was Bundy's biggest miscalculation.
@Romulan2469
2 жыл бұрын
Another point I forgot to add about Bundy helping to find the Green River Killer (in addition to his reasons I have mentioned above) was that he wanted to be the most infamous serial killer of all time and Ridgway was about ready to eclipse Bundy in notoriety. Bundy wanted to take out his competition. Even though Bundy had been executed long before the time of this guilty plea video, it's clear Bundy wanted him apprehended and convicted sooner rather than later.

Great points! TB would probably be thrilled if he could see how fascinated the public is with him after all these years. TB was foolish and arrogant for not listening to his attorneys in FL when he was offered a plea. He had many people fooled in his personal life, and believed he could fool a jury as well. Ridgway lacks the charisma and looks of TB, but he is still alive today. Ridgway would have received more public attention if his victims were college girls, rather than prostitutes. Ridgway had a much higher victim count. 😔

I really love how at the point where the family members got a chance to speak (not in this video), victim Maria Malvar's brother Jose just completely EVISCERATED and DESTROYED Gary Ridgway. Called him a "loser," a "coward," and an "animal" before wishing that he'd get inmate justice... I was 16 when he was arrested (18 at the time of sentencing) and I remember being absolutely shocked at how ordinary he looked! And I was amazed by how small he was/is (he's still alive) because I'd always pictured the "Green River Killer" as being this muscular 6' plus, 200 pound guy! And if you look at Gary, he's the opposite, and I remember Ann Rule writing that he looked like "Caspar Milquetoast" in "Green River Running Red." I had a college roommate who looked a bit like Ridgway sans the mustache and my girlfriend and I used to joke about that! He also confessed to committing 22 murders beyond the 49 that he pled guilty to (and I'd also argue that this case was a death knell for capital punishment in the Pacific Northwest, as if you don't execute someone who has killed 71 women, then one could argue what is the point of killing someone who has killed 1 person in a robbery gone bad) but now Washington doesn't have the death penalty anymore and its basically abolished in Oregon as well. Crazy that if Bundy hadn't done his second Colorado escape, I think he'd probably be in Washington State Penitentiary now alongside Ridgway and Robert Yates (who was on death row until Washington abolished the death penalty). Ive always wondered why the Pacific Northwest has had so many serial killers....

He's going to get everything he deserves behind bars that's where the real justice will happen..RIP to all the victims. They didn't deserve what happened to them. thanks for sharing this. The scary thing about Gary is he looks so ordinary you'd pass him on the street and you wouldn't think he's capable of such evil. He blends in.. like Ted Bundy. He looks normal.. never judge a person by a face..my grandmother said that. You don't know what's going on in their head.

The, "trash", were someone's daughters, sisters, mothers, family, and friends. While you may see it that way, and they certainly put themselves in a very precarious situation everyday, they're still human beings man. How would you feel if someone said that about your daughter, mother, or sister? Have some compassion. Regardless of your personal feelings. Ridgeway called it taking out the trash too. They were living, viable, human beings. Regardless of whether or not he felt it was warranted.
