What an amazing time to be alive. This video radiates LIFE as I wish I could live it today. I feel that we were so much more in the moment. We were truly living, engaging with each other and not preoccupied with all the gadgets that consume us and have been destroying us for decades now. Watching this in 2023 even makes me question if this was actually planet Earth. I mean really, you don't see anymore this kind of comradery, patience, kindness, passion, skill, eloquence, enthusiasm, humility, modesty and the endless wonderful traits of mankind TODAY that have seemly washed away from our lives. These people were here for the MUSIC. They were pouring there hearts and souls into the music instead of worrying about which musician could out-do who, or who could look and act the sexiest or coolest. Everything today in music/media is all about how SEXY you can be. How Bad-Ass you can look on your stage or TV. I have become so sick and tired of living in this world of constant comparrisons and need to be perfect in every area of humanness. All the BS from instagram, Facebook, snapchat, cable news networks, Yahoo and all the media/computer websites telling us how we have to look, dress, and act. I know this has become a real long rant, but I am just so fed of with this world today.I miss these years, I miss being able to be human with flaws and not having to be so harshly judged by everyone if you don't meet this worlds "standards". We really knew what life was back in these years and I don't care what anyone says...Life was so much better during this time. Yes, Life is NOW, but the best years of my life are within these years and I will never forget them,

I agree! I don't care, I just do me! I love the 70s and 80s music and I truly miss the simple down-to-earth people and lifestyles. No stressors to be like everyone else. You just be you, and people accepted you for you! 🫶🤗😁 we need the simple life again!! People talked and actually called on their home phone and took the time to visit one another... no texting or FaceTime because they are so busy with crap in their lives, they can't stop and smell the roses! 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🌹🫶 Life just passes so fast, love your friends and family and get back to the basics and love one another! ❤️ No race issues, no keeping up with the Jones', just be free inside and out and live life as God wants us to live and love. 😁

I’m glad I also grew up in the 70’s because that was the time of great music 🎵. Those times were actually great…especially when Gary Wright’s music was soo electronic. Since his music is soo Spaced Age his music is probably centuries ahead of its time. That’s because music didn’t move in that direction perhaps it will when we’re no longer around.

He was preceded a couple years by Kraftwerk, who didn't even have acoustic drums. There was also things like I Feel Love by Donna Summer, the A Clockwork Orange soundtrack (though in fact, most of it was conventional musical stylings, Wendy Carlos only had three tracks in the film, and one of them was severely edited), and the early 70's Doctor Who music (which frequently featured the BBC Radiophonic Workshop's EMS Synthi 100 synthesizer).

Brilliant stuff. Saw him with Peter Frampton at what was then The Empire Pool, Wembley, London. I guess some of the audience didn't realise that it was ALL keyboards and drums, no bass guitar! Light of Smiles is Gary's "Sgt. Pepper", an excellent thematic composition with strong writing & few weak spots. Sadly, it landed with a thud in a musical landscape being torn by Disco & Punk at the time. A casualty, most likely, of timing than anything else & perhaps an association with prog/glam which were strongly under fire. The all synths production & cosmic demeaner peppered with Eastern religious undertones, lyrics and philosophy made it alot to swallow in the then shallow music climate

PROGRESS DOES NOT REQUIRE TESTS ~ Many of God's children believe that a person is not able to achieve nor should be invited to the New Age unless they past tests. Particularly personality tests among those who were from New England in the past including this man, Gary Wright. Obviously this is because such children from that and other areas were/are subjected to much testing (too much narrowly formulated schooling) during the vulnerable period of their youth. But we've learned this is not true; an important message which is found expressed, for example, by aliens of higher intelligence in the film "Contact"--"...no, no tests Ellie"--and particularly from one of its writers, Ann Druyan, who made sure to include the message in this film's screenplay as it is not found in Sagan's novel. --Pete Reilich
