The officer proudly displays it to the farmer. 'See this badge? This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish, on any land. No questions asked or answered given. Have I made myself clear? Do you understand?' The old rancher nods politely and goes about his chores. Later, the old rancher hears loud screams and spies the agent running for his life, and close behind is the rancher's bull. With every step, the bull is gaining ground on the agent. On a side note, I stopped using plastic gas cans a long time ago. I still have an original US military service "Jerry" gas can, but I also own a few metal Justrite gas cans with spouts attached. Yes, metal gas cans are expensive. More so since COVID. But they will last you a life time. One and done. And it is almost impossible for a Justrite gas can to tip over in transport due to their design. Can't say that with the Jerry can. But the Jerry cans they are very hard to find now. Long since replaced by the less popular NATO gas cans. But if you find one, scoop it up. Check it for rust in the inside, replace the rubber gasket at the cap and you are good to go.

I also cut that stupid lock ring off. Currently I have been moving away from plastic cans. The ones I have bought at wally world leak at the seams. I found some metal Jerry cans on Amazon. Chinese made, a bit thinner metal then the originals, but have a nice screw on spout. My old US cans are much better, but seals and spouts are impossible to find. I store gas in the Chi cans for the long term storage with a preservative. They don't get beat up. Once the rest of my plastic ones crap out, I will buy some heavier metal round cans for every day use. This issue with gas cans, is much like having opd valves on propane tanks. More than likely, manufacturers lobbied the government to change the rules so they could sell a product.

I've done manual labor for most of my life. My hands are pretty strong. I have to give it some oomf to open 1 of those. Those spouts are obnoxious. The only spill proof cans I don't mind are the metal cans that have a spring-loaded lid. They are somewhat ergonomic, and if you dropped the can or anything happened, it closes the lid. But those can still wear your hand out. They are good on construction sites where you might be standing in an awkward position or standing in mud on a hill, etc. It's cool that people were willing to help you. That always makes me feel good when I hear about people helping people, even if it's something minor. I hope all is well for you 🙏. God Bless.
