The TGS prototype was a modified X4300. X means "diesel self-propelled" the equivalent of キハ. The RTG (T2000 was its official name) was designed for 200km/h, thanks to a very low center of gravity, and brand new bogies renowned for their stability at high speed. We had a 200km/h line from 1967, Le capitole (Paris-Toulouse), a conventional electric train composed of a red BB9200 and 7 cars. The CC6500 locomotive, the most powerful in the SNCF fleet, could also go to 200km/h, but the profile of the Paris Marseille line, Le Mistral, did not allow it.
