I think it's amazing that your family has this tradition. It's literally a right of passage for the men in the family and modern society doesn't value that type of thing anymore, that's why men are so lost in this generation. Thank God Gavin has you, Shay, a real father to guide him in the way he should go, to give him purpose and meaning in life. He's gunna be a better man for this and one day he'll be a father and he'll be able to pass on these values. If more Americans were this family and church oriented the world would be a much better place. I grew up without my father, raised only by my mother who was too busy and stressed out to teach me anything, I grew up lost, I had no values and no traditions passed down to me, but Im a grown man now and despite my poor upbringing I'm accountable for my own life now and I just hope one day I can start my own family and do it right, break the cycle in family, the cycle of fatherlessness, lost and unloved children, and abandoned women forced to raise a family on their own the best they can. My father didn't show me what to do but by him not being in me and my family's life he definitely showed me what NOT to do. I realized a long time ago that instead of being bitter I can learn from my father's example and do what he didn't do.

Do any of you understand that Gavin said he's being sent to Torreón Mexico, where 70 Missionaries were robbed at gunpoint last year?

I’m not religious and I’m bawling my eyes out. Just know Gavin there is so many people who have watched you grow and will be thinking of you with so much care while you are away. Love from Katelyn in Australia x

I remember getting my mission call and reading the line, "you have been recommended as someone worthy," and I started bawling. In Avengers: End Game, Thor goes back in time and talks to his mom and then reaches out for his hammer. When he catches it he glows, gets emotional and understands, "I'm still worthy" and that is exactly how I felt reading those words. What an amazing opportunity for Gavin! I am so excited for him to learn and grow so much as he "invites others to come unto Christ" and discovers that he draws closer to Christ through the process. Congratulations, Gavin! ♡

Instantly started crying the moment everyone started hugging him! I’ve been watching you guys since 2014! I am a mother myself of a 1 year old and 2 month old! So I know it’s going to be difficult for them to watch Gavin leave and become a man that he is!! Their nest is starting to become empty and it’s sad but happy to watch the kids do an amazing things!! Congratulations Gavin!!

Shay I was REALLY critical of you coming back to KZitem after what transpired. But as a viewer who has watched your vlogs for forever, it’s really great to see this update. I’m glad to see your family happy and congrats to Sontard on his mission.

Do any of you understand how dangerous Torreon Mexico is, or do you just worry about what happens in other people's marriages?

@@joeoleary9010 maybe they're hoping the missionaries with bring peace and love to that area of unrest. Most missions aren't going to be to really stable places because most of those places already have religious people.

@@Ari6lle1nWonderl2nd Less than a year ago, 70 missionaries (including young women who should NEVER be sent out to dangerous places like that, they should be home protected by their fathers, brothers, and husbands) were brutalized by armed thugs in Torreon.
