Very good narration, improves the video quality in a huge way. There used to be tons of these fuel tanks here and there. Now Its impossible to get a decent fuel tank that has not corroded or is full of rust. The older style nose is impossible to find even used. I would recommend using a decent oil brand in the engine, not the Russian products. Reason why the GAZ 52 engines failed was the lubrication system is based on a 30s Dodge engine and the oil cooler dose not help. If you can afford decent mineral oil brand than id advice to do that. Russian oils maybe soon going extinct.

Thank you for your comment. Of course, I use modern oil. Since I am in the EU, I cannot and do not want to use Russian products at all :D. In general, I know about the problem. Bad oil and prolonged high revs kill these engines.

@@MyGarageWork Good to hear that. There is still Russian oil for sale in the EU but the price is not favorable for more known brands.

What a perseverance should you have to restore such machine? Very nice they are threatened as they now deserve, very few are left alive.

It's a hobby. And also as a tribute to grandfather. He was employed as a driver at first on GAZ51A, GAZ63 and until his retirement on GAZ52. My Father also worked as a driver with a GAZ53B for a while. A large part of my childhood was spent in the cabins of these cars. And my GAZ52 is actually in pretty good shape. Such small things as for an old car. Some modifications, such as dump trucks and milk trucks, are still quite common on farms. Perhaps that is why many do not appreciate the rarity. Wooden cargo boxes are very rare.
