hi sir , if a plant is only partially in the quadrat, do we count it? and also do we factor in height change in land eg hills?? I am halfway through my gcses currently and doing okay thanks to you and your resources!!
@Freesciencelessons
4 ай бұрын
You would put together a rule eg if the stem is growing in the soil covered by the quadrat then count it otherwise don't. And you could take into account height above sea level if you wanted to but that would have to factor into your investigation. Best wishes for your remaining exams. I hope they go well.

Hii, sorry for last the minute question, but can you please explain the difference between when to use a quadrat and when to use a transect? It’s very confusing
@soobinsdimples5195
2 жыл бұрын
haha four years late, but quadrats are used when looking in a random area, for example a park or a field. whereas, for a transact its for investigating the number of species in a habitat, while using a transact also includes the use of quadrats, the transact is usually a rope, quadrats are placed along the line at specific distance from one another and you would do this various times to obtain valid results.
