Many of you year 11s start your exams in less than 2 weeks now! The pressure is rising and being in this position a few years ago I know exactly the feeling that you feel like you should be studying 12 hours a day and yet you are struggling to stay motivated, and then every time you think about GCSEs your heart just sinks, but honestly as someone who got all grade nines, you don't actually need to study 24/7, I would suggest you should prioritise learning the content first and then practising any exam questions after because as long as you learn the content then you are definitely going to be prepared
@NoumanSami
Жыл бұрын
^^^ yes no matter how much you revise, you'll feel like you should've done more, so just focus on getting the work you need to do done and the practise you need to do, and then tell yourself that no matter what happens after that, you prepared the best you could

maybe instead of studying based on the amt of time you spend you could try by topic or question etc.? personally, i make a list of all the topics/papers i have to do and divide them across a few days so I won’t burn out but still get work done. also the issue might not be motivation, but concentration related, and honestly regular exercise helps a lot with that. even if these tips don’t help, i hope your exam goes well 🥰

I'd say I have a rather unique problem unlike these comments and that is revising too much 😦 I don't feel confident with the knowledge I have so I keep going through everything all over again. I used those effective study techniques everyone talks about but still keep forgetting things when I try to do past papers. Literally don't understand ppl who haven't started revising yet like in a way y'all lucky because for me it's been 2 months since I started focusing my entire day on studying but with not much results honestly. I missed on a lot these past few months because I decided to study 24/7. I'm not a nerd or that smart student but just filled with anxietyy. It's currently 4 am and I am on panic mode for my math exam tomorrow (around 30 hours left) 🤩 Don't know what the point of this comment was but here

@NoumanSami
Жыл бұрын
Wow that’s quite a unique problem, firstly though, all that revision if it’s not amounted to anything is not worth it and you should probably switch up how you’re revising and do less revision in a day but with the same amount of focus. Obviously it’s a bit late now so I recommend firstly focusing on why you seem to be getting past paper questions wrong because if it is the fact that you’ve just forgotten what it’s asking you about, I recommend making some last minute flash cards to help with that and then to start working with topic based questions before you move to the actual past papers. You should be happy that you are actually putting that revision in because that’s already a step ahead than everyone else.

@@nasteha.9963 1. Geography is all about the content. Take your revision guide out and just mug up all the points. 2. Make a list of all your case studies and learn atleast 1 Economic, Environmental and Social impact and opportunity. If that doesn't work I tend to relate it to logic. Because geography is quite logical when you get the hang of it, like math and science. For example "why would a gorge retreat?" Ofc because something's breaking the rocks. Last year was at it’s all time lowest. The grade boundaries really depend on your exam board for the sciences and also what the country gets as a whole. They average the grades and create boundaries. It wont be too high at all though as we were still affected by covid, hence we’re getting all the formulas for physics. Just don’t worry and carry on revising. You’ll get there. If you revise, it will show when you get the results. Good luck!!
