The latest Peanut lighters have a recess groove for the o-ring to ride on, and is completely tucked away when the cap is screwed on. Copies have the O-ring partially explosed and when subjected to environmental conditions the waterproofness tends to be short lived. My only peeve is that the inserts could have been more snug, threaded could be better, especially if its carried upside down or on its side more often than right side up.

You're not putting enough fluid in then. I'm a smoker and a filled zippo will last me 3-5 days of use, before It's completely empty.

***** The time it takes for the fluid to dry out will also depend on the humidity in the area you live in. I live in a very dry area so a full zippo dosint last long.

Bought the peanut lighter and loved it so much I bought another for my boyfriend. But, the prices have changed dramatically...the peanut lighter is around $30. But I'd prefer to have the real deal and not a knock off, and hopefully Countycomm will stand behind their product so if I have any trouble with the lighter down the road I'll get good customer service.

Nice! I am definitely going to buy one of these. I don't like my zippo because it doesn'y stay lit if you turn it sideways too much so I can't smoke a bowl with it :(. And I don't like bringing it anywhere because I don't want to lose a $40 lighter. But this is perfect, because it attaches to a key chain, and will probably light a bowl better :)

You struggled to get a good spark from the smallest one, which made me wonder that there actually isn't enough room for the flint, spring and screw, am i right? The spring must be terribly short, which may become a problem when the flint gets short and the spring should stretch to give pressure. I have the original one as a keychain backup thing that i don't much use for real but it's nice to have and is a cute toy lighter.

Many gas tanks have a funnel shaped screen in the filling tube for the purposes of filtering what goes in the gas tank (and preventing siphoning). The idea of "tying a string to this and dunking it in your gas tank" might now work. Don't count on doing that in an emergency unless you KNOW that your gas tank does not have a filter screen in the filler tube.

Fast forward to 2020...Exotac Titan Light! Same principle just bigger. I love the things. Zippo needs to get in the game and make a BIG one, with a huge reservoir.
@Matityahu-the-God

Zippo just needs to diversify more in general. I think they're seriously ignoring just how desperate we are for products from trusted them. If zippo made something like the exotac, and the split pea as well, they'd make a killing. Most of us are weary of buying one of these due to fears of bad quality, but we know and trust Zippo.
@tikkidaddy
2 жыл бұрын
@@Matityahu-the-God Agreed. I think Zippo could make the highest quality peanut style lighter that would hold more fluid, but they make more money on fluid, flints and wicks than they do the actual lighter😂the Exotac really cuts fluid use way down compared to Zippo, and fluid is $80 a gallon now😂😂

It's the same design as a Zippo. In fact, the manufacturer basically stole the Zippo design, and put it in a small case with an O-ring. A Zippo wick will most likely work but you may have to cut it short, of course.

holly shit i had no idea about the lack of oxygen thing you talked about,,so even though my zippo is open after a few seconds of trying to spark it lit it still wont have enough air to light because the lighter fluid vapors are too heavy? i actually tried blowing it like you said and wouldn't you know it it lit right away lol even with the slightest flick of the flint too wow nice ,i have an imco junior i tried this with as well but it lights right away ,it has that seal cap keeping the vapors in and youd think that would keep it from lighting on the first try but it usually works right away better than zippo ,if it dont light right away i blow on it and try again and i think it works like you said,,another trick i believe is to flare out the tip of your wick like a tree so it has a better chance of catching sparks,also the tip needs to be chard or carburized,i believe it lights right away like that,this is why fresh wicks take time unless you control burn it to leave a layer of char
