I own a CMC with a flat trigger. Owned it for years. Works great. I also own a Geissele SSF trigger which is about the same as the SSA in semi auto. By far my favorite two stage trigger without question. Really to me what it all come down to is application. They’re both wonderful, but depends on the job as far as which on I’d prefer....

Here's a friendly update for anybody who's worried about a lightweight CMC trigger: • CMC designed the internals of the trigger block to enable the lock time to be as short as possible to ensure reliability • the trigger weight does not affect reliability it is only a preference for the shooter and their circumstances i.e. the 2.5lb is perfect for competition and is just as reliable as the 4.5+ weight triggers

i got the Lantac/CMC flat 3.5 lb trigger for $89 also. i installed it in my modded FN M4 set up as a RECCE/DMR and love it. its very light, exceptionally smooth and fairly crisp. reset is a bit light but i can run it fast just the same. my only problem is i did have a couple of light hammer strikes on mil-spec 5.56 XM-193 with hard primers. no issues with .223 rem ammo though. its a great trigger at full price. at $89 its an exceptional trigger!

There's no problem in keeping your weapon lubed. It helps prevent wear and tear on firearms, not to mention prevent rust and such. So if you store your weapon, it's a good choice. If you decide to shoot it, you prevent wear and tear. Just make sure u clean it after so it doesn't start junking up.

Great video! The only BIG difference is basically in the safety and forgiveness of the 2 triggers. With that single stage you lack the safety of being able to have enough forgiveness in the trigger to not have any accidents. As long as the person knows and chooses the right trigger for the right task, than each one has their pros and cons. I do love me a nice crisp single stage though! Especially at that killer $90 price point that I happened to miss cause I waited too long. Oh well, next time! :)

I have 6 CMC triggers flat and curve, dont like Lantac but trigger is same. Geisselle is nice and offer more options but the price doesnt equal performance. On another note CMC is not for the guy who doesnt clean their rifles and runs them hard. The one piece design only flaw if at all is when it gets filthy, you gotta remove it and really clean it and spray it out good, other style triggers are just easier to clean with the seperate parts. Not many will run into this problem though. Just my two cents

The only problem with the flat trigger is that if you have a BAD lever the trigger space gets crowded real fast. If you're shooting with gloves on you'll have to bea little slower getting to the trigger.

Here's another option - and please comment if I am wrong here. So there's this company - ALG Defence. They are wholly owned by Giselle. In fact, they appear to be one and the same, with one significant difference - they cost a lot less. Some years back, when replacing my hand rail , I also bought their ACT - Advanced Combat Trigger. On sale, it was around $60. Today, without sales - it is $80. It appears to look and function just like those expensive Giselle ones - 4.5lb (shipped with two weight springs), crisp, with short reset - a HUGE improvement over the standard mil-spec one the rifle came with. So far, after thousands of rounds - I still love it and it has been 100% reliable. Bought their handguard and low profile gas block too - all top quality components! So you experts out there - is there a difference between ALG and Giselle?
@keithbrandson6293

YES. Both Geissele and CMC are in another league to the ALG. But if you are happy with the ALG, you may not think the price difference is worth it. BTW, you can get the CMC for around $100 on sale.

@aperfectcircle008 Yeah when I was doing 2 gun seen a few get a popped primer get in there and have to disassemble the gun and fish it out. And seen dirt lock a few up. Especially when lube gets down into the cassette trigger. And that Southwestern desert dust gets involved. A lot of the guy's running those triggers also run a lot of skeletonized stuff. At the bleeding edge of reliability. Those triggers are fast though. I couldn't keep up with them. The split times they could run off was pretty fast. But on the flippy floppy side. I've seen that wonderful Camp Pendleton beach sand lock up M16's. And having to flush them out with canteens of water.

The benefit of having a typical "mil-spec-style" trigger is that I can field repair it. Geissele triggers often come with more than one spring (lighter or heavier pull). If something goes wrong with the CMC, I get to ship it back to CMC. Could you fix it? Maybe, but not anywhere near as easily. I do actually like CMC. I've owned one, and it was a great value and upgrade over stock, for sure. I have Geissele triggers in all of my ARs now because I prefer the smoothness and the RESET is so much better than on a mechanical trigger (IMO). It comes down to personal preference. Both triggers are good, and both will make the gun go bang. If you're concerned with price, then definitely go with the CMC. Geissele triggers are, literally, battle-proven though. Just something to note. Cheers.
