Jello requires a full freeze drying cycle. I pre froze it he jello and then used factory settings…they took about 26 hours

I add 12 hours dry time to almost everything sometimes 24 for things like blueberries and strawberries

can you just leave the Jell-o in the molds and freeze dry it that way instead of removing them after freezing in the freezer / transfer to the tray?

They are fragile and will break apart, also the time to Freeze Dry will increase dramatically because of less surface area for the moisture to escape

We purchased the Harvest Right molds and use them for FD milk the same way, but they pop out easily…

How much ice do you have when done? I ran a jello batch and had so much ice i had to stop the run at 29 hrs with mT900. I froze them so im going to rerun the batch. If your getting it done in under 24 hrs that is great.

I was wondering if I would need to use an oxygen absorber when putting the jello bites into my small Mylar bags to sale. I’ve only sold several kinds of candy never tried jello.

I have just used moisture absorbers with my candy that I sell because they are intended for short term sell and eat.

@@whatthefunction9140 I’ve done both… aspartame does not have the same structure as sugar… totally different texture is the result. Don’t take my word for it, experiment for yourself and find out. One is crunchy the other is like styrofoam consistency of packaging peanuts.

I used factory default. They take a normal freeze drying cycle and a really full load takes about 36 hours

Yes, however the texture is totally different and it gets quite tart instead of sweet. Assuming it’s the Aspartame which is horrible for you any way I would recommend trying sugar free Jolly Ranchers if you want a sugar free sweet.

I rotate my trays when my extra dry time is midway. The bottom tray is where a issue is most likely So try a piece from middle tray then compare to bottom tray And then decide if it’s needed You get a opportunity to add more extra dry time at the end of a cycle Hope this helps It works for me

regular freeze dryer cycle. Jello is not candy and will just melt if you try to use candy mode.

Thank you for sharing your experience. As someone how makes products for the skin, we always wear gloves and hair nets. I would also do the same making food product for sale. I enjoyed your video 😊
