The problem still remains there. One unit of electricity produced from this plant costs more than 56 rupees, which is really expensive, we have to import Furnace oil on which we have to spend dollars, and last but not the least air and water pollution. Taking about its capability to run on natural gas makes it even worse. It's efficiency is 25% and one unit is produced in around 34 rupees. If we give the same amount of gas to powerplants in punjab, they produce thrice the amount of electricity that is produced from one unit of gas as their efficiency is 64%. This is really injustice with the nation just to oblige few rich people. I request the owners of this channel to make documentaries on renewable energy sources and their projects that are under construction in Pakistan to educate people about our reall issues

The whole world is shifting from coal to renewables and we are now shifting towards coal. It is such a huge blunder that we are feeding our environment with GHG emissions with our own hands.

Renewable energy depends on weather. In rainy season we can not generate solar energy. In non windy season we can not generate wind energy. We need some constant power in grid. Furnace oil and gas is imports which costs huge. We have surplus coal reserves in thar. Thats why we are moving to coal.

Not an efficient generator and so expensive to generate electricity that's why the electricity price is so high.
