Western regimes are the worst enemies of their own populations. By antagonizing country after country, they're increasing the incentive for countries to create non-western financial mechanisms for trade and business alongside trade corridors that can't be harmed by these regimes.

When this is all over Russia will have become a truncated version of its former self. Crimea will be Ukrainian once more. In fact many borders will be redrawn. Manchuria will once again be Chinese. It is very important that Putin does lose everything he has taken, as anything else sends an appalling message to leaders of other nations that still feel other nations are there just for their military to grab. @@vin.handle My point is that Hodges accurately predicted that Kiev wouldn't fall when others said it would. Precisely because it was the general consensus (groupthink) and Hodges dared to think otherwise, and was proven right, is what distinguishes a brilliant strategist from a standard tactician. Hodges is the former. Most of today's generals are the latter. I am more apt to listen to what Hodges says about how things will play out vs other pundits because of this fact.
