This practice leads us through various postures or asana that open the body----muscles and connective tissues of the hips, the shoulders, the chest, the spine. It is a good, general practice, for daily use. The practice proceeds from breathing and letting tension go to opening the spine in six directions, opening front body as we lie on backs, opening back body as we lie prone, and opening the side body in Gate and Triangle.
Thanks to Donna Faulds for her poem "Forgiveness." She asks us to let go what we cling to in the past and be present--"a free spirit waiting to soar with the seagulls."
