@@acefist1487 I've driven my car for almost 10,000km now over the past 11 months. Mine is 2.5T luxury package. Overall, I'd still give the car a solid 4 out of 5. Even today I still get amazed by the interior design (I have beige seats) and attention to details. I also find the car extremely quiet (even without active noise control) and can drive for long hours comfortably. The only downside is the ride itself. RPM transmission is sometimes a bit jittery and not as smooth as the German counterparts but I'm not sure how a 3.5T will perform in comparison to my car. The absence of air suspension also means that it's very susceptible to road conditions - very good on good roads but can be rough on uneven roads. That said, I'd buy it again if I went back in time and had to choose again.

I took delivery a month ago, matte white with red nappa leather, 3.5v6 sport and luxury pack. I’ve kitted it out with 22” rims, black wrap on roof and spoiler / mirrors. I LOVE the car, only problem is, every time I park it means I have a conversation with someone who’s fascinated by it! I’ve had BMW’s, Audis but this is on another level, drives fantastic and the sound system is surreal. Total drive away was $101k (through a business), I highly recommend people drive one. Only niggle is the fingerprint reader is temperamental, rear leg room not amazing. Great review too by the way.

Very balanced and fair review. I made a conscious, objective decision NOT to buy a Merc, Lexus or BMW and bought the GV70. The best decision ever, and the FREE servicing, concierge pick up and drop off, loan cars and free premium roadside assist, simply makes it a value proposition you can't go past. Nice review. Former BMW and Jaguar owner, they loved expensive mechanics. The GV70 is brilliant, bought one of the very first local 2022 GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige's in November 2021, would buy it again tomorrow. Genesis aggressively priced the GV70 originally to get some market share, at $64,045 when I bought mine nothing touched it under $70K. Now the 2024 GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige is $70K, more in line with the comparably equipped Germans (BMW X3 M40i, Audi SQ5, MB GLC43), and it has concierge service and a better warranty. Looks are subjective but I think the GV70 is beautiful insole and out, in Sport Prestige trim it matches anything.

Only the 3.5s can come with either the beautiful Napa leather or suede insert seats, both of which felt and looked far superior to the base leather offerings in the 2.5 series (including the highest trim 2.5). There are additional interior differences between the two, best to see both side by side. The 2.5 engine did feel plenty powerful for me though - if you’re not a speed demon the slight mpg savings would be nice.

First time I've ever heard someone look at a whole bunch of squared off ridges and holes on what would normally be a nice flat surface and think "hmmmm yes very aerodynamic" 😆 what's next? Speed holes?

Ok I’m going to play devils advocate here.. Am I the only one who hates that interior colour? Reminds me of a 1990’s hilux plastic interior colour. Also the wheels may look “ok” but that design is going to be a pain to clean. Those little holes on each spoke with fill with brake dust and become a nuisance to clean and will require constant maintenance cleaning with a brush. I do however like the interior lighting if. That’s a nice touch!

Interesting to see the Australian perspective. Just to add an individual UK perspective (Personal perspective), fully loaded, this Genesis will cost £54,160 ($102,030 Australian). Brand new BMW 2022 LCI X3 M40I has just cost me £56,770 ($106,947) fully loaded (Difference of £2,610 or $4,917 Australian). For that small price difference in UK, the build quality, technology quality, speed 0-60mph and milage per full tank of petrol with its all-round performance is why i went with BMW, after Test Driving both vehicles for a 48hr time period each (Will not bore those reading this with detail about other vehicles also tested!). It is why the X3 outsells the Genesis by very large margins, as Hyundai is not a popular brand in UK and seen in the equivalent vehicle bracket of Skoda (Perception - even with the Genesis branding). Additionally, Genesis are not allowing tyre choice on UK delivery (Only Summer) as most in UK like to have All-Season or Winter tyre choices, depending on season your vehicle is delivered to you. (That negates the cost saving, as these tyres to buy, cost easily half of the saving). Compared to BMW who deliver tyres for time of year your new vehicle is delivered to you (Summer/Winter or you ask for All-season at no cost). So the BMW customer service you are provided in UK is worlds apart, similar to distance between UK and Australia! Sorry Genesis, though it will be interesting to see how they do, but as a perception around where i live in UK, I see 20x BMW X3's to every Genesis GV70 and would be extremely lucky at seeing a Hyundai/Genesis, as its the equivalent of trying to spot a Kangaroo in the UK, so have to go to the zoo or the Hyundai/Genesis Dealership! I just can't see Genesis cracking UK SUV mid to upper luxury range in UK, as German, Italian and American Ford vehicle brands are far too dominant. Hyundai/Genesis brand name is not highly respected, due to quality issues, especially in UK climatic conditions and our hilly, twisting roads. BMW X3 All The Way For Me, as it is the ultimate driving machine even in the UK 4 seasons of Summer, the Spring/Autumn with Rain, Fog/Mist and the Winter with lots of Wind with torrential Rain, as well as Hail or Snow covered roads. I live in the Highlands of Scotland for reference in the UK. Good review though. See 'Car Confections' KZitemrs, done by 2 American brothers, for a great review of the 2022 BMW LCI X3 M40i.

That's interesting from a UK resident's point of view but the Australian market is very different to the UK. Hyundai have noticeably increased the quality of their cheaper models in recent years but I feel their motors are not 'state of the art' and still lag well behind the European motors in both performance and economy. In Australia we don't have the choice of tyres when ordering a car and it is not necessary to alternate between summer and winter tyres, although it does snow in the Australian Alps and winter tyres would certainly be an advantage in this areas. It is early days for Genesis in Australia and only time will tell whether they can establish themselves in this highly competitive market where BMW, Mercedes and Audi are king. Mazda, Honda and Nissan tried to compete in this area of the market and failed and Lexus have succeeded but are still not in the same league as the other 3. I think Genesis will struggle with sales in Europe, particularly Germany, as it will be difficult to get the German out of their own cars.

you can't compare this to the germans especially if you ever driven one. Genesis has all these "luxury" features but most of them lack precision and lag ~10 years compared to the germans. Yeah, they offer seats massage - but it sucks, ventilation - lowest setting is too strong, infotainment is not intuitive - you click the maps button and it defaults you to their maps even if you have car play hooked up and using those maps already, it can't recognise. And what is that woeful image of a city on the main screen. The sunroof bangs, just like it does in the gv80. The suspension is too rough for a premium car. The fuel consumption is over the line of acceptable. Yeah it is a nice car but the "like a cut-price Maybach" claim is of an amateur.

In Brisbane and cant get a test drive, an inspection or any thing solid re availability. Genesis sales is a complete lack of seriousness and hardly professional. They really should have their sales open before launching. Embarrassing and does make one consider how committed they really are. I have been emailing them since May.

Don’t get too excited about. Example, if the electric steering pump goes out on a GV80 or a G80, it’s around $6000 to replace because they have to replace the entire rack and pinion because the electric steering pump is built into the rack and pinion.
