People are misinterpreting what this guy is on about in the comments. It's not about literally making people live to 120+ years, but keeping people healthier for longer, instead of your body starting to break down in your 40s and 50s, it maintains your peak condition for a longer period of time.

I have a few friends who are scientists, & in my experience they tend to be quite modest & cautious about anything that they say regarding their studies... Generally when they say a study was good, they usually mean that the study was formulated in such a way that the thing they were researching was really well isolated, so if there was a phenomenon they would know exactly what caused it & wouldn't be in doubt "Well, it could have been this or that..." The feeling I get is that's what this guy meant when he said it was a good study -- it was a study with clear results & tightly controlled variables.

Life is great, and there are endless opportunities; I think you lack perspective. Read the books: The Rape of Nanking by Iris Chang, The Gulag Archipelago by Alexander Solzhenitsyn Mans Search for Meaning by Vicktor Frankle To see what actual human suffering is. If you don't want to see to far into the darkness of Hell on Earth I actually suggest reading Yuval Noah Harrari's works instead: starting with Sapiens. He lays it out where humans began and how tough they actually had it, and how good we have things right now. His later works speculate philosophically where we are heading as a species and I find it exhilarating to the new possibilities that await us in the future. God is dead, humans killed it in the 20th Century; but we are building our very own through the arc of technology.

Cool, I've been taking DHEA, BHT, BCAA, and other anti-aging supplements since the 80's. I also took Saw Palmetto so I wouldn't get bald like Rogan did.

I hate to rain on this parade but Jack Lalanne lived to his early nineties. He exercised every day controlled his eating but still died. My mother never worked out and never watched her eating and lived to her early nineties. I have worked out 5 times a week until 75 and my body is beat to hell. Who knows what works for each person

Adding 2 years to your life could be say 84-86 years old and it's not like you are going to be running around and jumping through hoops in those extra 2 years. All I am saying is (and I am guilty for this) is we worry about or physical and mental health and look for ways to enhance both our physical and mental health in good ways by spending money (sometimes alot of money) to try and help us feel and look better. At the end of the day if you eat healthy and exercise a little you can probably have them extra 2 years anyway and it won't cost much. The worry of looking and feeling good will probably knock 2 years off your life.

The thing that sucks is most of whats being discussed here likely won't be developed and available in our lifetime. Our children's children might live for hundreds of years though.... while we only get 100 if we are lucky....

If you have an extra 30-100 years over everyone else and you still havent gotten out of wage slavery, maybe the thing keeping you down isnt the government.

that is an incredibly pessimistic view of the hypothetical, what about the incredible increase in productivity in the first world? there will be a period in which the longer living generation will surpass the previous's expected age of death, resulting in a period of simply no one dying to age related illnesses like a death-drought, so predict whatever you wish in regards to funeral expenses, life insurance and health insurance costs that are already effected by the eradication of age related illness if you are particularly inclined to care about your race being "outbred", first worlders will be able to have more children, have them live longer, have more time to care for them, and perhaps more time before they are sterile meaning women who are in the workforce can take care of their children without the family worrying about debt. you have more time to grind away at college, if you're out of work it'll be far easier to retrain for a different industry, and personally, the prospect of being able to run around with my grandkids, or great grandkids without getting a herniated disc sounds smashing

Proteus nah, you just want to hold on to something you cant. Thats ego and greed. The nature of things is life and death. You cant cheat it to run around with grandkids.

Pure Male Nothing wrong with paying taxes. The problem is, not enough people are actually paying their taxes. And whatever taxes that are being paid, are mostly inappropriately used and wasted on nonsense.
