He did. Bigger glove sizes and style that didn't emphasize on KOs though. Abel Sanchez created the pressure fighter he became.

Movement isn't everything. Sometimes it's the things you don't see, the counters and precise use of movement, much like Joe Louis. But yeah, the could have maintained some of that in his craft. Take energy though, too. Power punchers like GGG tend to be minimalist as time goes. Even Canelo is coming to be more of an active high guard with parring, rather than a slick continual slipping counter puncher like he was midway in his career. Although stylistically that has it's limits as well.

Damn it amateurs are 3 rounds different scoring and big gloves and headgear. You can’t just go all out super fast out the gate as a pro and only a few pro boxers choose to utilize that amateur style in the pros .... or rather keep it up for 12rds. Floyd lara usyk come to mind. But real pro fighters learn how to stay in the pocket more because all that amateur experience gives them the reflexes and experience necessary to stay relaxed on the inside and use things like blocks, upper body movement, and rolling instead of constant slips and footwork. Lots of it is unneccessary wasted movement and amateurs have a lot of nervous energy and wild swings with bad technique just like .... wait for it .... an amateur would have. Even cubans can be raw sometimes as an amateur. Its called amateurs and pros for a reason .... and people in general evolve, develop and change. A lot of movement for 12rds is taxing not everyone can do it and especially not a power puncher like ggg
