what is difference between genotype of Germ cells amd somatic cells...mean that only one pair of choromosome is different from the rest ones.if this pair represented by XX r XY then what about others.....Autosomes will be represented by?

I am a bit confused about the genotype of Somatic cells and germ cells....for germ cells we use XX for female and XY for male....so for autosomes(somatic cells) what representions should be made? plz guide me.......

Great video !! But, please clear my doubt about the last pedigree chart, If I only go by seeing the pedigree, I think the pedigree is X- linked dominant..... How it is autosomal dominant, if you can clear it....thanks

Hi Akash, Thanks for your question! I see what you are saying and after doing a little more research I found that if this was an X linked dominant an affected mother would pass on the trait to 50% of her daughters and 100% of her sons and an affected father would pass on the trait to 100% of his daughters and 0% of his sons (becauses males donate Y chromosomes to the male offspring). In generation 2 the male has passed on the trait to both his daughter and son, therefore it can't be located on the X. I hope this clears it up for you!
