@@jakeryan95 Put me on r/whoosh but that's definitely not a thing. Back when I was taking shamisen lessons in Hakodate, my teacher always wore regular street clothes. Plus yukata are just a type of lighter kimono made for summer wear and festivals when it would be way too hot for a full kimono.

How did I only now just realize that the shamisen is really similar to a banjo?
@KitKat7580

Trust me, I live in country music USA and shamisen are 10000000% more functional, flexible, and DEFINITELY more pleasant to listen to. They have much more depth. Also I hear one being played every night as my neighbor is a professional banjo player, there's only so much you can do with one.
@chipperdrewski

@@KitKat7580 That’s cool that it’s so versatile! I wasn’t trying to degrade the shamisen. Mostly just realizing that there are some striking similarities, which I think is really interesting 🙃

At surface level? maybe, but very different history. Actually never really heard about "banjo" that much, just that it started in 19th century NA
Inazuma has some of my most favorite themes and music - and story, too. But hearing the songs played on one of the most iconic instruments of japan (although it already is featured in the soundtrack itself - but not as singled out as here) it just adds something special to it. I love it.
