Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, *no!!* Tate *CAN'T RELEASE ANY* (even live) Queensryche songs *EXCEPT* Mindcrime I & II songs. Blame Tate. He filed a lawsuit against Queensryche. That was agreed upon by all parties. Since no one brought his 3 album set from his MindCrime Band, he is stuck just being a singer in a Queensryche cover band. Unless Tate starts writing songs that people want to buy. Which is doubtful.

Not to bash Geoff Tate. Really i don't want to. His music has made such an impression to last me 10 lifetimes. I even like how has made this arrangment. And the band also performs to perfection. BUT, don't you think he has made this arrangment because his voice is just a shadow of how it used to be. And he has to refer to these kinda arrangments to reach the level he used to have with no problems at all? When i listen to Walk in the shadows, i want that power in his voice, those freaking high notes and that energie. I'm sorry, but for me this isn't all that great.

@strtngfrsh
6 жыл бұрын
Sure we can read and since you'[re getting a little abrupt I will also. We''re just trying to get some common sense to sink in which you obviously lack or you wouldn't have made the post, as said earlier there isn't a single human being able to sing with the same power and range as he did 40ish years earlier. That fact should even hold more true for GT considering what he'[s put his voice through during the last 40ish years so the effects of father time should have effected hm more than the average person. When you hear what he is still capable of at 60ish it's phenomenal but to expect it to compare to what he could do 40ish years ago is silly.
@Rene_Denkers
6 жыл бұрын
strtngfrsh ok ok ok. You and the others still think i'm trying to bash Geoff Tate. There isn't anything i can say or do to change that fact. So what was so bad that i wrote? I believe i wrote that i loved his voice so freaking much to last me 10 lifetimes. And that i even like what he has done with the arrangement of this song. The only thing that TO ME PERSONNALY isn't that great is that he has to make these arrangements for his voice to carry the load of the song. And yes he has put his voice through much abuse, and yes he is aging. But that's just my point. I like what he does. But i don't like that he has to do it. But just for the people with so called common sence. I'm not a Tate hater.

Geoff has been the man from the inception of Queensryche. Without his voice and lyrical mastery there never would of been a band. age. time. these are two powerful forces that wait for nobody. Mr Tate had a voice that i measured all others with. there were many screamers and note holders, but nobody had the scale and range of this man at the time. Nobody. Transitions alone were mindboggling. and the ease at which they were done? i just shudder.... but a little latitude musr be given to Mr. Tate. first, because we all know what we had with him. absolute greatness. years and years of music that got us through years and years of life. thank you is what comes to my mind. not any bashing. c'mon! Geoff deserves none of it. and i bet, if "plugged in", he'd still bring the house down. and 2ndly, he doesnt wear wig. no cosmetic surgery. not trying to be 25. he's keeping it real my friend. and i will appreciate that all day long. Geoff can still blow and if his new band Mindcrime comes around, i 'm in the crowd for sure. alwayz be a fan.

Chris Hipwell I’ve seen Geoff take the stage with Queensryche 11 times, so no lecture necessary. His voice is my favorite of all time, but don’t expect me to enjoy watching the Blue Angels if they decide to bastardize their craft by doing stunts in gliders. These songs were meant to rock and it’s pathetic to watch such a powerful voice tour around with a guy playing drums on a box. Whip and the boys are laughing at Jeff’s new monkey show. Next up: Tony Iommi playing Iron Man on the ukulele...

Chris Hipwell It has nothing to do with the original band. I would see Geoff perform these songs in a heartbeat if they were given the honor they deserve rather than being bastardized by the “Lumineers”. Plug in and rock or go home.
