It really just throws Dustin a handful of bucks at the expense of us, his audience. Ain’t no one going to a random eBay store that you just told us someone paid you to promote…. We ain’t even buying on regular platforms such as eBay comc etc primarily atm In reality the $600 bucks he’ll ultimately make off this is worth the 400 people unsubbing

I had too aswell. I hope this comment gets taken to heart. 3 to 4 different promos that take up 1/4 to 1/3 of a video. If you are genuinely helping these places, then it can be cut way back. If your selling advertising space on as a YT promo - where you already have ads built it - it's just too much. I respect your opinion on the hobby but honestly I respect my time more and what was amounting to 15 to 20 minutes of promo reads a week got overwhelming.
@TJCloutier

@@RyanMoody21 you mean the 3 min per video x3-4 videos a week or more = 12-16 min of ad time per WEEK of “checking out a random eBay store that paid Dustin”. It’s like I get I’m cynical most of the time but it’s just how I come across… with that being said whether you’re getting $6 bucks, $600 bucks, or a million bucks… like why wouldn’t it even be in the back end of the video? You’re trying to “please” people that add giving you money RATHER than people that spend there TIME on this planet. I’ll die one day, perhaps this comment won’t matter, but neither will your ads brother. Stop bombarding us with them at beginning of the video at least lol. Last but not least, not to take shots cuz I only work 20-30 hours a week and I’m a lazy asshole but think about your audience man. Watching your videos seeing the vacations etc. goals. Great. Kudos, but you don’t just throw ads on your videos because you aren’t putting in the hours at the office. Ya bold statement but I stand by it. Cheers 🍺

T-Pott looks “excited” to be watching 🤪 Geoff has got to be naive or just clueless. He doesn’t know why people are wanting him to fail. It’s not that, it’s that everything he does, HE fails. The only reason he’s still around is because of market movers and he’s still hoping his entire business model of hoping 1 out of 10 makes it big is going to be market movers and it’s not. It’s only been open a month and already talks about inventory. It might fail faster than most thought. Have a great weekend brother. Take care!

They also need a working website where you can buy online. For the people that are looking for specific cards and not just what they decide to offer on live selling
@zachpierce641

He said they need to buy an even bigger scale than they did before the shop opened It concerns me that he needs to buy so many cards that he just won’t be able to make it work , but who knows maybe he’s fine. In the video, he talks about the challenges of just getting inventory, but yet he says he needs the square footage because he’s not just a card shop he has the online selling operation the breaking ect It just sounds like he’s trying to do too much. He needs to focus on how is he getting the cards . If his shop was smaller, he wouldn’t have to stress so much about paying so many employees. He talks about the challenges of going to card shows, because there’s not a lot of card shows in his area that he can load up on inventory. They are in Atlanta, so they’re flying out to places Dallas and that adds expense to just getting the cards to the store . That gets expensive, and you can only load it up on so many. You take CC2 in Ohio he goes a lot of shows, but because his location he’s able to drive to a lot of them.

If there’s one drawback to a very short, sharp dynamic live-selling turnaround per card, it’s that I feel like it encourages impulse buying juuuuuuust a little too hard. Now sure, a select part of the buying hobby can do it and pivot within it very quickly. But is there enough juice for the squeeze there medium/long term ? I could also see Geoff making money offering CardsHQ as a space for athletes to come in and sign their cards/sticker sheets for the card companies. There will be a ‘dollar benefit per hour’ number for Cards HQ that will make it feasible as a stream of revenue alongside the shopping list of ways the store aims for long-term viability.

$5 cover more reasonable. I think they should consign - slabs only - to reduce upfront costs. Could even use a display case in-store for high end consigned cards. As annoying as ads are, it cracks me up how ppl whine that you want to make a little money doing all these videos instead of spending all of your time providing them with free content. C’mon ppl it’s not hard to just double tap and fast forward thru the ads.

Its mindboggling to me that he had no plan for refreshing inventory on a rolling basis and is now going to come up against the inability to make the monthly nut for a business this size because he won't have enough cards to sell to make the margin. When I saw him at the Philly show last Fall with a booth and line of kids with pelican cases trying to sell him handfuls of slabs, I was pretty skeptical that he had a workable inventory plan. Now that he's sending a couple of dudes out to cards shows with a checkbook and suitcases, I'm certain that there was no plan. Truly remarkably bad business plan. Cards HQ will be closed by the Fall.

The live single selling platform does seem like a no brainer way to play off of a similar reward system/neural as does the online/live breaking sector IMO. The more impulsive/instant gratification portion of that evolutionary built-in reward system/neural pathway. It's definitely an upside way to take advantage of monetizing an online content creator's user/follower base. Future content thought - maybe channel your inner personal finance dad and do another refresher about how you allocate funds for the hobby and/or perhaps some good rules of thumb to think about when about allocating/budgeting spending for cards vs income as well as where that falls in priortization of other goals like retirement savings/debt management/avoidance? I'm a finance brained person like yourself and have always found that angle an interesting topic from time to time. But hey, market's are back at ATH's so maybe I'm just feeling the positive vibes from that? lol

I think Geoff was reasonable in what he was thinking and what they are putting in place. But, I'd really like for folks to stop talking about "10Xing" ANYTHING. It's not a measurement that I know that any real business person uses at THE Benchmark for their business. It steers the conversation into just day dreaming scenarios rather than practical business sense.

Honestly: The majority of the comments left below, are fairly ' Dead On Balls Accurate..' Most serious collectors can see right thru most if not ' all if this..' The Rationale: Really Sorry, but it's not our first rodeo, and though ' You Take The Card Guy may be new to the field of collecting; some of Us are just as sharp, if not sharper about the current state of the hobby as we know it, and Nothing Is 10X. *...Rather: ' Our Experience and Skill is what makes a variety of these videos pedantic, redundant, and a bit contrived.' Just saying.. Recommendation: Probably better to just refocus the daily videos so they stand on Their Own Merit..., and umm, ' a little less about vitamins, low cost life insurance, comfortable slippers, cotton towels from Giza, etc..etc.. - Peace ✌️ ❤❤❤
