We look at the moveout correction for a simple model consisting of two layers and two reflecting horizons. We see that the t-squared x-squared correction does a much better job of removing moveout than the series approximation. However, we note that, with the exception of the constant velocity (~single interval) case, reflections tend to be slightly non-hyperbolic. Note that the derived t0 for reflection 1 is 0.15s not 0.1s as shown in one of the slides.
