Foreman was very quick here, from both sides. You can see him taking a few straight or short lefts from Frazier, like he's OK with not guarding against those completely. Hearing Angelo Dundee scream “STOP IT” at the top of his lungs at 6:32 and up is gut wrenching. We see these guys now and appreciate the legends that they are now 50+ years later. But think if you were in the heat of this era, nobody is a legend yet, just a bunch of strong, great, tenacious, and powerful young men. So Funny Cosell saying "No fear in George foreman" during the stare down. Years later in interview George would be saying that he wanted to be world champion but hoped that Frazier would die first so that he didn't have to fight him and that he wanted to lose stare down because if Joe looked down first he would see Georges knees shaking. If you don't believe me then look for the documentary "Champions forever" that came out back in the late 80's when George was making his comeback. But really you had to be alive at the time to realize the shock-wave that this Foreman win sent around the boxing world. A heavyweight as devastating as Marciano being dispatched with ease in two rounds was something never encountered even back in the days of Sony Liston who although walking through the top ten like no other like him before or since, never beat up an all time elite champion and all time great the stature of a Joe Frazier who at the time was not only undefeated but the only fighter to have beaten Ali. Ali's chances of beating Foreman according to the experts and bookies of the time after this display were identical to his chances vs Liston him being an 8 to 1 underdog. At least here in the UK.

ALL fighters say stuff like that being polite. Ali said he was afraid of Liston. It's just talk.
