So, George sang for almost two hours! Great show. Sadly, Conway died in June of 1993 so I didn't get to see him in concert. I did get to see George about 8 times and loved every one! RIP POSSUM.

I agree with you. I can listen to George, Dolly, & many others that I grew up with, any time. My Dad's name is also, George, coincidentally & it was him who rubbed off on me as far as who I listen to, etc... He had a lot of 8 Tracks, records of different sizes, cassettes, etc... Of everyone from Flatt & Scruggs who were Dad's bluegrass kings, Hank Williams Sr, Jr & Don who were Dad's country kings (in order they happened), The Rolling Stones who were Dad's Rock N Roll kings, etc.... He had a series of tapes that we always listened to for years called, Super Country 85, 86, 87, 88, & 89, & other tapes like them too. On those albums were Dolly, George, The Judds, Ricky Skaggs, Highway 101, Exile, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Kendalls, Steve Wariner, Mel McDaniel, T.G. Shepard, The Berlin Brothers, The Statler Brothers, Alabama, Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash, & tons more. He even had 8 Tracks of Kenny Rogers, Neil Diamond, James Taylor, Merle Haggard, Kitty Wells, Johnny & Jack, Charlie Rich, Charley Pride, & tons more. My Dad is now 68 & has always been a huge music buff. I've always nicknamed him, The Music King & my Mom (Dale) The Movie Queen or The TV Queen. Because if they had a choice & were only allowed 1 thing, Dad would choose a radio & Mom a tv, when I was growing up. I am both of them together but, if I could only pick 1, I find it harder to live without music or a radio than tv. Yet, I love them both & am a huge fan of so many on each, honestly. Thanks to George, Dolly, James Taylor & even Buddy Holly & The Crickets for being my earliest favourites of all, my favourites list kept growing longer & longer. Buddy has always been my Rock N Roll King, George & Dolly my country King & Queen & James Taylor my Folk Music King. So many favourites. Love them all. :)

2020, The Possum will forever be one of the greatest.. Remember he’s from Texas! Could you imagine being Hank Jr getting a phone call with George asking if him and Dolly could cover one of your songs.

I'm 39 yrs old & I barley heard this song like 6 months ago when my boyfriend played it for me on one of those nights when he feels like dancing even if its just dancing in the living room ... One of the most romantic experiences I've had with him. I just fell in love with this songs.

Being a lifelong fan of both George & Dolly, I've always found it hard to pick only 1 from their list of contributions in their musical libraries. I've always said it you like Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes, He Stopped Loving Her Today, A Picture of Me Without You, Bartender's Blues (solo or with James Taylor who wrote it), etc.. I'm sure you'll love his songs: I Can Live Forever, which is a great Country Gospel song. I've always found it to be very uplifting & a song of great faith too. It makes people look at death one day in a calm, relaxed, positive kind of way. It's as though the song is saying, hey, don't fear death. You can talk to Jesus, you can see the lord. He describes in a very positive way now curious he is, how looking forward he is, & how sure he is about what's in the next life even though he's still here living this one. It's a really great song. Another Jones classic. As for his song, Choices, it will remind anyone of the song we listen to & are talking about on here, The Blues Man. This too, really blends well in the same category of subjects, as She Loved A Lot In Her Time, He Stopped Loving Her Today, & many others of his that we all know & can feel him saying while singing that this is a biographical song for him. Such great Jones classics for sure.

Great to see another broaden their horizons music-wise. If you love George you'll love Boxcar Willie, Ernest Tubb, Roy Acuff who was 1 of George's heroes, Merle Haggard who was George's favourite male singer & as far as I'm concerned was his best male duet partner too. Heading them sing Yesterdays Wine for instance that my Dad played too many times to count, was 1 of George & Merle's best songs, period. It should be in the hall of fame as 1 of the best duets, ever. It's a classic. When Alan Jackson did A Good Year For The Roses with George, that too, was another great Jones duet. So many to choose from & all of these & many others are on my lifelong list of favourite songs. If you love Dolly, you'll love the Honky Tonk Angels album. That was the album that I nicknamed, The 3 Queens of Country Music Album. Dolly was my queen, & my Mom loved Tammy & Dad really liked Loretta a lot & listened to all 3 of them & many others too. I used to say growing up, it would be amazing to hear the 3 of them get together like that, & when I was in my 20s & they did, I was blown away just as I knew I would be if I ever heard them together. They were legendary together. just as Dolly also was with Linda Ronstadt, & Emmylou Harris for their TRIO 1 & 2 albums. All for the hall of fame in my book. They should have all been inducted as the trio groups, just as they were solo because both of these trio groups are as country as you'll ever get for all women groups. As we all said & know too. Dolly can blend her voice with pretty much anyone of any style. One of the best singers, songwriters, entertainers, actresses, comedians, hosts, etc.. of all time. I've always loved all of her work. A lifelong fan of here always.

George Jones laid the path for the country music after this song. Where it went with today's country I don't know. I've said it a million times. George tough us how to sing with a broken heart. Vince Gill said it's it beat. On that statement.
