No fancy light show...no dancing girls...no auto-tune...just a great country voice and a great story everyone can relate to. The 'ol Possum was truly one of the legends and is missed everyday. The 'new' country artists should take a listen to this to hear what a country song is all about !

My #1 favorite country singer. When my daughter was a tiny baby and she'd wake up in the middle of the night, I'd give her a bottle of milk, and rock her in my arms in the rocking chair and we'd listen to George Jones!

+audrey aldwinckle Chemo is like kamikaze on the body(there really is no need for it) instead Go to Frankfurt Germany and get treated by naturopathic methods DMSO and Dioxychlor. The methods are as natural as a sugar free diet, living in an oxygen rich environment(s) to kill off the cancer, and plenty of organic fruits and vegetables as medicine and so on. If I could afford it I would take my mom there.

I grew up with the best era of Country Music. What a great childhood! I think he actually apologized for singing "Tammy's memory will" at the end. But actually, everybody loved the live improv.

when my grandmother died and then my grandpa , my best friend my dog died i went through very rough times with Alcohol because i felt like there was nothing that could help me and felt my life was falling about day by day then i listened to George Jones and it helped a ton then i guess god and Jesus knew that the way i was heading was not good and gave me hope with a dream saying they are in a better place now don't be sad it's gonna be alright but only if you try and give up. a dream i will never forget.

I pretty much had a similar experience. My wife died Christmas day 2015 at the age of 45. I was there too and although part of me died with her I listened to this song and saw myself and where I was going. I struggled and am slowly healing.

A lot of the old country greats could sing a drinking song, but none sang them like George. That's because he lived it every day for much of his life. It was autobiographical. It makes me think back to that story of him on the riding lawn mower. Too bad he had to go (die, I mean - not to the liquor store on the mower). Willie's the only one left.

Sorry fellas. Ol hank sr has the most powerful voice in music history. Hearing songs like I saw the light, Cold cold heart, I'm so lonesome can just capture time and feeling when Ol hank sings those songs. Such a shame he was only 29. God only knows what Hank would've done if he lived a long strong life.

On one of his shows George said no matter how many time he sings the same song, it will be different. This is the absolute best version of, "If Drinking Don't Kill me" in my opinion. He is superb in his voice, the words just rolling out of that fabulous voice!
